    My favourite place was always somewhere I wasn’t meant to be, we had a big estate just up the road from me ( wynyard ) and we hammered it with the dogs, it had everything, deer, foxes, hares, rabbits and it was keepered by a group of nutters, so half the excitement was dodging them, sadly a lot of it is a up market housing estate now, not that I could be doing with running from the law anymore ? ( been going a year this thread next month ?)

    They are spot on, I use them off eBay and have had good results from them, when I get home I’ll put a picture up of the ones I use, I think they are about 35 quid, they’ve got a little screen in them so you can watch back in the field

    Definitely mate, I’m starting my pre season work up there over the coming weeks, so I’ll be having a look about to see what’s on my patch

    If I was just a member of our syndicate I don’t think I’d still be in it, I don’t have any interest in driven shooting really, but all the other shooting I get from it and been involved in running the shoot makes it worth my while ( oh, and I don’t pay what the other members do ?)

    Fit is everything, try as many as you can, to see what feels right to you, don’t worry to much about the name on it, it’s just 2 tubes ??

    I’m the same as FH, always had an open ticket and if I’ve got room for it, I can have it, firearms around this way are really good to deal with, my mate is 10 minutes down the road a comes under another force and they can wait months for variations and renewals If you go for a deer legal calibre then an open ticket could be deemed necessary if you would maybe pay for deer stalking in the future, likewise, if you have a few places that you would shoot a CF this would also go in your favour for an open ticket

    Syndicates can be a bit of a headache, someone always has something to winge about, I’m still waiting to find out if anyone is dropping out of ours this year, instead of moaning about how their fee have gone up £100 to £500 for 8 days, instead of bitching about it, go and try and find driven shooting for that price anywhere in North Yorkshire ??

    Wooohoooo, finally got a foot in the door at a place I’ve been trying to get on for a few years now, it’s egg units, stables and a cricket pitch, I’ve been working here for about a year on and off, I’m now landscaping after the build has finished, putting a lake in and raised beds around the house. After putting the beds in today I was talking to the owner about the amount of rabbits and to my surprise he said can you shoot them ?still haven’t got the fox shooting but give me time ?

    Cheers Viz it’s good to get advice from someone who uses these things yeah, I’ve noticed, can’t find the wraith or the Solaris, think I’ll have to contact ludicrous lumens

    It’s took me years to join the dark side, the way things are going I’ll be on bookface and instaspam before you know it ( down with the kids ?)? still, nothing beats a mouth call and a lamp ?

    There’s a few problems with it, firstly it is 3 mode controlled by the power button and sometimes it doesn’t remember what it was on when you switch it back on, secondly it’s turned itself off a couple of times when I’ve pulled the trigger and thirdly it’s now started flashing on and off sometimes when I put it on. My mates contacted Paul Baker and he’s said send it back and he’ll have a look at it what I want is a variable ir that adjusts on the tail switch, the nightmaster LED, Solaris and the wraith that Viz mentioned all look good but I want to make sure I’m getting the right one

    Shame you didn’t get a fox but at least the weather has been favourable over the weekend, I’m very envious of the dipper, I’ve never had any luck spotting them ?

    Picked up some more gear to chuck at foxes today, seems we might be responsible for America’s ammo shortage ? reading the bumf on them they are man stoppers in the urban environment, they certainly do the job, the .223 likes them and at 18 quid a box they are at the cheaper end, which makes me happy

    Was planning to just sit out overlooking the lambing fields at the back of the farm, but decided to go for a walk about while it was still light

    Just had a lovely stalk into a roe buck at the sheep farm, just to see how close I could get to it, dam you.223 if I’d of brought the .243 things would of been different ?
