  1. Been a couple of years now since we spoke, he had one old dog then. But he packed hunting in years ago.
  2. I believe she was called ruby, not sure the rest of it. But got a funny story relating to that. A crew of lads I used lamp and dig with in the 90,s . Went on a week's rabbiting holiday to Caithness called in to see Tommy and either bought a small whippety type lurcher off Tommy or a relative, can't remember exact details as years ago. Anyway these lads was stopping in a rental cottage and went and bought the dog, and decided that night to go on the piss in the two local pubs. Left the dog loose in the cottage. But when they came back from the boozer, the dog had eaten everything, the curtains
  3. No big number pics. But had some very happy times and fond memories of travelling up North to Scotland for a week's or weekends hunting holiday . Fell in love with it first time I went at nineteen years old, truly gods own country.
  4. My mate told me that , that Tommy little whippety types slid through the wire. And my mates big minshaw dogs couldn't do that type of running at that time on those fields with that type of fencing. He described it similar to railway fencing .
  5. Many years later we stayed up there and my mate new Tommy so we called for a brew for a chat. He long since give up with the lurches and then kept collies sheep dogs. I found time a nice quiet spoken fella very hospitable and he kindly pointed us in the direction of a few spots to hit.
  6. It's all madness. Just all bills going up in general. The electric and gas is scary, in my little business I use a lot of electric and some of the machinery is 3 phase, am dreading it. Also with increased fuel prices and the looming of the clean air bill ( although has been put back for now, but is coming ) running a business is hard work. My little business is in a semi rural area and only a 10 min drive from my house, for work I have a little 1.3 diesel van which I use a tenner a week to get to work and back. But if the clean air charge does go through it would cost me a tenner a day to driv
  7. Anybody watch this documentary on channel 4 , about some fella who bought a caravan and lived with travellers for 60 days. Only watched the first episode but was not a bad watch. Don't know who the fella was, but seemed a decent fella, Ed Stafford he was called , apparently done some other interesting stuff too.
  8. I stopped paying for mine 9 yrs ago. Still get regular letters , I just put them in the log burner lol. Had a plonker knock on door once , I just ignored him. Am like yourself ketchup I genuinely don't watch the BBC . In fact I very rarely watch telly, I watch a few films on my firestick and mostly watch YouTube content. So fed the noncey organisation.
  9. Ricky Tomlinson autobiography was very good. Fella had it hard at times. Well worth a read
  10. The fall guy would of beat him up
  11. Am cutting back. Spend less money on whores and smoke less crack
  12. A little tip I'd thought I would try out for anybody wild camping bushcraftin or cooking outside. When I went under tarp last night my burgers made an awful mess in frying pan. So I thought I would try baking paper in the pan. Got some baking paper from pound shop for guess what a pound lol. Drew round base of my frying pan and cut out and just a touch of oil on top. Sausages never stuck once , cooked evenly. When finished just chucked paper and a quick wipe with a bit of paper towel. Makes washing the pan out ten times easier when up on moors and limited water supply. Costs pence and is ultra
  13. Watched a good few of Carlisle,s vids. I don't think he can drive, so they are all on foot from his houses. Wonder if they are on permission or not. I would be worried about people kids ect trashing them after the hard work they put inn. Probably just easier do what we do and take a tent lol
  14. Very quiet last night up here, lashing it down now though. I packed up early to avoid the rain
  15. Was out myself last night, something a bit different. I normally wild camp up on the moors , love it in the open among the heather and rocks and fantastic views , sunrises sunsets ect. But last night did a tarp and bivvy bag camp. Burgers and a bottle of wine.
  16. I read his autobiography and enjoyed it, haven't got time to watch this right now as up for work. But will later, thanks for the share South hams.
