  1. Welcome to the forum and good luck. Is somewhere like Bisley out of the question, you'll not see any hunting as such (they do a bit of bow stuff at animal targets sometimes) but a lot goes on, and getting around to view a bit shouldn't be to difficult. Assorted Open Days and numerous competitions as well, so it can be interesting!
  2. Pest control tends to have very limited use for firearms, many seldom even use Air rifles. My company specialises in larger animals/birds and firearms work, I get a lot of work from other Pest Control companies who advertise all services but simply don't deal in Firearms work. Even with my many years with firearms, great connections and a good reputation I would struggle to make a living just shooting things!
  3. Use the correct bait boxes/traps. Birds don't eat out of Tamper proof species specific bait boxes, neither do they get caught in the correctly laid traps. It simply isn't an issue, Pest controllers don't go round killing non target species! Other options............…. Tell the neighbours to sort their issue! Move the bird feeders Take down your bird feeders.
  4. If you can make a .22LR sub ricochet 1000 yards you will be in the record books! I suspect Alsone will now quote some expert saying they may go 1.5 miles!
  5. I don't do a vast amount of trapping, but the Kania is the Daddy as far as I'm concerned for Squirrels, perhaps not as versatile as the Bodygrip though!
  6. Every gun and every calibre has a use, sometimes that use can be quite specific, other times quite versatile. A .25 at 30ft isn't versatile, but the OP may have a use for it that it is ideally suited for, until we know what that is its rather difficult to comment about it compared to the .22 he mentioned!
  7. My apologies, so you are just a rabbit voyeur, well you had me and a few others here fooled.
  8. "I can't make a case for an FAC because I have no land over which to shoot which means no good reason. Nor can I afford the equipment to shoot atm." Yet you feel it appropriate to lecture/criticise/contradict/advise many here who have been shooting all their lives and have a wealth of experience on all sorts of calibres! For someone who reads all their life you are very poor at comprehension. Perhaps you should learn to read better, You are off at a tangent, promote your own view from reading as fact, don't listen to anyone with experience, criticise them and suggest they are w
  9. What does he actually want to do with it? Like it or not .25 is pretty specialised, its not the gun you buy simply for a bit of fun, if you want a .25 you usually have a reason, rather than buying one and then looking for a reason! A .25 at 30ft lb carries a fair bit of clout, but it still depends what you want to clout with it, if 30ft will be enough!
  10. I'm not trying to be funny, but if you can't actually find any land with rabbits on, you are hardly first choice for removing them!
  11. I use them infrequently, but every time I do I have to stop and think just how I do set them! Am I missing something, did someone suggest they are unsafe??????
  12. If you have spent plenty of time in the field with a .22lr then you can make a case for a FAC. You seem to live in a bubble of self belief, based on what you read, shooting in the field is a world away from shooting on a range, military or otherwise. If you had any particular experience of both you would know, and not be lecturing about being some sort of highly trained field expert because you read a few Range Safety rules! Kindly do not attempt to lecture me on the subject, in case you didn't notice, I am a Qualified RCO, so I happen to know, I control Military ranges, Firing
  13. A Military range Officer is probably reasonably qualified to train people to shoot on Military ranges. There is a world of difference between a Military Range and the field. They all tend to have purpose built backstops and ricochets are virtually non existent, even when they are using the sleeved down .22LR training versions of military rifles! I am a Qualified RCO at Military ranges and there is very little that tranfers to the field, that is another whole area of learning/experience! There are many people here that shoot 1000's of .22lr every year in all sorts of enviro

    MP jailed.

I really don't follow, just what is the issue of getting a speeding ticket, even if she ended up banned. Nowhere near the grief of where this went to!
  15. So your mate isn't a muppet ................. However, he did make a serious error of judgement in shooting without knowing where on the land I was. I'll sleep easier knowing you agree with George Wallace.
  16. Looks real to me, but then again, so does Star Wars and Jaws! (Ok, maybe not Jaws!)
  17. Some advice, stop shooting with muppets and …... Stop reading and regurgitating whatever suits you, go and get a FAC and some real shooting experience!
  18. I dip in here about once a week for a bit of a chuckle, well done to all, some real good stuff here!
  19. Why not, but a certain Local in the middle of 3 shoots I look after is more than happy for me to turn up in full camo with a rifle over my shoulder, (unsleeved). Done it several times, country lanes, next to the village church, even taken a shooting buddy in, they have also taken plenty of rabbit and venison from me, the owner even has a couple of Fox tails I did for him for his Lambretta whip aerial as well. Its always well busy and my card is on their notice board too, the locals are remarkably easy about it! I'd say that is well supported. About 2 miles away lived a former Chairman (o
  20. Good luck, how long have you had him?
  21. Whatever you suggest it will take a lot to get one over on most here.
