You can drink a lot of Scotch in half an hour! Enjoy..the world is opening up, those pigeons won't know what hit them, but don't hit the ferrets!!!

If we are talking in the value for money stakes then try the Lightning. Just remember BSA/Gamo are more than just friends these days so check them all out! Do your best to stay away from anything that says "Made in China"

Best Allrond Moderator for a .243 and .308
Deker replied to jon15's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Deker, I use the .243 most of the time for fox and roe/fallow and some very limited red hind stalking, only bought the 308 because it belonged to a mate who wanted a 30.06 for boar and some african stuff, and thought it would be a good calibre to have if ever i go and shoot boar or get to shoot some big buck/stags. I have a Swarovski 8-56 which is great. I have heard very good things about the Ase range which one do you use as i have only been told about the Jet-Z and the S5. Do you not think you one moderator will do both well enough? Thanks Jon Jet-Z and the S5. They do -
Best Allrond Moderator for a .243 and .308
Deker replied to jon15's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I suspect most will come back with the T8. These do a perfectly adequate sound suppressing job but build quality is not that great. I use the ASE range on centrefires now, they are built like the proverbial "brick sh*t house" but depends which one you get weight can be a bit of a problem! Cost a bit more than the T8 Whatever...if you have a .243 and .308 barrel you are going to need 2 different sizes to do the job properly! So on top of a fairly hefty price I suspect you have already paid there is a chunk more to spend yet. What is the gun for and what scope are you using? -
Help....I've got a pair of decent buckle up wellies that I hardly ever wear, what I almost always use is a real cheap pair from Homebase, B&Q etc..you get the picture. Well, my last pair have had their day so I splashed out about £10 for a new pair just after Christmas. I'm now getting 2 little dirty spots appearing on the socks due to 2 tiny leaks. I'm pretty sure I punctured then a few days back kicking brambles out of the way. Question is, how about sticking something like an inner tube patch on top...any ideas. I know they were only cheap but my previous pair lasted for

How old/what sort of condition is this in? Sounds like the valve is sticking on the bottle and you will obviously have to get a new seal, sounds like a chat with BSA or your local dealer could be in order.

Bottles as used for Air rifles must have a test every 5 Years. (Diving bottles used for diving have to be checked more frequently, 3 or 4 years I think). Price will be different for different sizes and depending where you take it. My 12L 232bar was tested about 18 months ago and cost about £28.

DS I think Richard G put it quite well but I also agree with you.... As for shooting anything up the behind? Sounds viable. Just doesn't sit right with me. I suspect though that virtually any centrefire placed as suggested would have more than enough power to cause considerable damage and the instant demise of the victim! Cheers Deker

Don't know is the simple answer as I run Falcon. Check out the AA site www.air-arms.co.uk to find out the size of resevoir fill pressure and shots per charge, you can work it out! Either that or hope one the the AA owners can give you some advice! Cheers

The BOTTLE filled from a Dive Centre will have Clean Dry Air...you will NOT get condensation in the gun resevoir. If you fill from a pump you get atmospheric air which is damp and dirty, whatever filters you get will not be as good as Divers Bottled Air. As already said, if you get a pump it is hard work and you MUST use the filters or you will get dirt and damp in the resevoir...NOT good news!

:11: Did you ask him what reason there was not to shoot rabbits for 8months of the year? hi yes i think he was trying to imply most rabbits are milky then and i would be spoiling my future sport by shooting them He is pulling your plonker or has been on too many of the happy pills. Rabbits breed from Feb to October (on the whole) November December January all have R's in. They are all seriously "milky" in May, June, July and August when apparently he says it's ok to shoot them! Give him another bottle and go shoot some rabbits..if you run out find some more land

I seem to be finding quite a lot this year (for my area anyway)..Just got back from a couple of hours out and taken my sixth fox of the year, all being well a pic up tomorow..small vixen taken at about 160/170 yards with the .223. Cheers

The boiler does everything and the hot water gets there in the end but never quite manages to get the heating up to temp, rads are hotter upstairs than down but I put that down to hot rising and simply not enough hot water to go round all the rads, flushed the system a couple of weeks back and fully bled now! Screw been out of pump..running fine. Need to get the front off the boiler to check what sort of stat is fitted...Trouble is it is wall mounted but VERY built in..a fairly major task to get the front off but got to be done!
-
Many thanks for all the replies.....pump wise YEP!!!I've had the screw out and its going a treat. Got to admit I thought is was the stat but probably the PCB (£100ish) and most of you appear to go with that as well. MANY MANY THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR TAKING THE TIME

Potterton Netaheat 16-22 around 1986. Fires up runs for about 3-4 minutes then cuts out, waits a few minutes then repeats the process, only ever stays on for 3-4 minutes and heating never gets up to full temperature! No air in the system and main pump is fine. Any ideas please? Cheers Deker

hi bullyhunt nice gun may i be so rude to ask how much you puchased it for. bin thinking of getting one many thanks davy If you can; stretch a bit further to the 410!

This can happen in any gun, wood is a natural product and whatever you do with it, sometimes it will twist, bend or swell, especially if exposed to extreme conditions. Many people have to do a little "easing" but if you are in any doubt about your ability take it to a gunsmith. Lets hope the problem is not actually a bent barrel!

Co2 NO   Do not use anything but simple clean dry "air"!!! No idea about the bottle you are referring to but it will need to take a minimum of about 200bar, most are rated at 232bar or 300bar.

No such thing as a daft question, maybe a few daft answers! I've been involved in this game, Air rifle, rimfire, centrefire and shotgun (and pistols) for more years than I care to remember, I'm Secretary of a Home Office Approved Fullbore Rifle Club at Bisley and run my own Game and Vermin Cortrol Company, etc, etc, etc and I still have a lot to learn!

Only you can answer that one, but you won't go far wrong with either! There have been/are so many variations of both, particularly the 686 it is impossible to answer! ATB Deker

My lad has a Gamo Shadow RSV and wanted a bipod, much against his Dads advice he bought a "Harris Type" off Ebay, drilled the stock and fitted the stud. It works far better than I expected but I have a feeling if he had his time over again he would not bother! Cheers Deker
