  1. I don't know because I'm not into that level of Air rifle target, but I do know a lot/some of the top people use them! Me thinks you need to be fairly serious to head down this route! ATB Deker
  2. You're just copying me aren't you.. Exactly the same Bipod and Thats where I got mine! PLUS £5-£6 P&P I seem to recall
  3. Yep! 9-13 swivel with notched legs is mine to. Quick and easy...Lists around £100, Available Brand New from several suppliers for around £75.
  4. DS Swivel means the gun can tilt from side to side...example..on a fixed bipod on a slope/uneven ground you could not get the gun straight, on a swivel version on the same ground the bipod will still be on the slope but you can tilt the gun to get it straight. Much better than trying to adjust the legs to a fraction on an inch..then to find a leg starts to sink! This is simple tilt of the gun. Left and right movement is still limited. And yes..they are great..it makes it almost unfair on the quarry! I have the 9-13 swivel with notched legs, brilliant on ALL my guns!
  5. Sparrows and starlings are no longer on the general licences for England. Therefore you cannot shot them in England, although they can still be shot in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
  6. Quick Bipod Guide... The 6-9" are designed for benchrest shooting The 9-13", benchrest AND fieldwork prone The 12-25", rough fieldwork and sitting position If you only ever target shoot on a range buy a fixed bipod, for all other applications ALWAYS buy a swivel! By far the most popular is the 9-13 swivel!! This is only a GUIDE, it's a free world...you are allowed to do whatever you like with each one! The standard fitting on most bipods, including the Harris is to the forward stock stud. Other fitting are available to suit certain stocks, barrels, etc
  7. Oh f**k...I can work out most of the rest but how do I recognise/find/test this? Cheers Deker
  8. your be fine mate like i said break out the tea and cakes A decent Malt, a bit of wacky and offering him your daughter (or wife) tends to do the trick, but don't overdo it.....
  9. .....and when you do buy your 391 this will help you look after it.. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=101242
  10. The boys on the Falcon forum will be able to give you those answers, they are a pretty good lot! My FN19 has been running FAC for years at around the 25-26ft lb and I get 30-32 full power shots. I think at 12ft lb is was meant to be about shots but I have not checked for years. As a matter of interest here's some pics of a Falcon magazine a pal has just custom built for me!
  11. http://falconowners.myfastforum.org/ This is the Falcon users forum, they will tell you everything you need to know. http://www.falcon-airguns.co.uk Falcons own website
  12. In that case can you pop round and "HELP" me dig my veg patch, fix my boiler, unblock my sink, put a new thermostat in my cooker and paint my whole house, inside and out? Thank you.... OUTSHOOTING
  13. If it is a detacheable bottle and not simply a resevoir...Yes!
  14. This is a real difficult one. Webley and Scott have done well over the last couple of years but their guns are simply Turkish made and Webley branded, having said they they do seem to offer reasonable value for money. On the other hand buying a better quality used gun may well be a good idea, and again as has been said, check out Guntrader.co.uk Whatever you decide..make sure it fits you! Make/Model/new/used must be down to you! ATB Deker
  15. Yep..I thought we had just done this... Check out the link above...anyway... prices at Blackpool Air Rifles (just an example) for £255 the Lightning, scope, mounts, mod ,pellets, slip..the whole lot.
  16. A little bit off topic but i was told Mixy was intoduced by man many years ago to try and control the rabbit population. Yep, around 55 years ago...worked well hasn't it!!! Many years ago a keeper friend of mine reconned when you saw a black rabbbit you would get an outbreak of mixy. That's a new one on me, how does that work out then when I find mixxy on a site where I have never seen a black bunny? Hey Ho! Lots of country tales, and great fun a lot of them are...got to remember there is a lot of "in breeding" in some rural communities as well :friends:
  17. I would not suggest the above! It doesn't matter on a SGC, there are no restrictions in principle, BUT, if he does ask why you want one, which he probably will, just say Clay Pigeon, once you have the grant you can use it for whatever you want (as long as it is legal). Once again let me say this is SGC NOT FAC, people seem to be getting the conditions a bit mixed up! ATB Deker
  18. I'm impressed, they offer good clarity and a fair price, they will be fine on the .22 centrefire range, I may have reservations if they were on top of a heavy hitting centrefire. I understand it is only a 1 year warranty on all their illuminated models though so watch out! If you are looking in this price range check out some of the Hawke, AGS (Webley) etc ranges. Some of all of these scopes are c**p but there are some worth looking at in each range! Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50. Robust, bright, readily available and everyone rates them, got to be worth a look, shop around,
  19. FOR SGC Colour part above is all you need, plus complying with age, storage, medical, legal requirements. You do not need to be in a club. You do not need land. And for 1 Shotgun you do not need a cabinet, ground anchorage is allowed, although they will "expect" to see a cabinet (best not to dissapoint). FAC is another story altogether!
  20. DEATH TOOL ..it runs at 26ft lb so I guess it is,..... frankly, I am very surprised how accurate they are (even in 12ft lb) as the barrel is about as flexible as a Bass Guitar String! I'm off this afternoon to use a bit more powerful Death Tool, around 2600ft lb. ATB Deker PS..things just don't seem to be quite the same at Theoben these days since the partners went their seperate ways!

  22. I don't bother with mixxy rabbits either but for the first day or two of infection there are no external signs. look at the liver ,if it has white spots it has mixy Never noticed this but will check a few in known areas. Mixxy rabbits are meant to be more tender and tastier than uninfected...I have no desire to test the theory! Mixxy was introduced more than 50 years ago to this country and it is inconceivable than no infected ones have been eaten. No cases have ever been reported in humans or in any other animal/bird that I am aware of. Don't be too concerned!
  23. Plastic bags in the boots...good tip, I like that, but I think I will try a repair. And...... yes I'm poor and need to prioritise, £10 on boots or 4 pints down the local (only 3 in some)...just let me think about that a minute...

  25. thanks for the help guys you have strenghened my ideas of getting air arms .... so most of you think classic long barrel few say carbine 1 said tdr so its down to carbine or classic can any body say they have fired both ???? can any 1 tell me there experience with the two rifles?? is there any probs with them ????some other makes suffer from seals ect Balance is different but you soon get used to either. You are really on your own now, you have to decide what suits you best or 100 shots per charge Accuracy wise there is very little to chose between either. D
