I've already got ADD, PMT, STD, MRSA and a few other big things with little names, might as well add MSN as well...what is it by the way and can my friends catch it from me?

'What the f*cking hell must it be like now that they're being left to get on with it?!' I think that you should be using this sentence to refer to foreign immigrants rather than foxes lookin for a meal. I think it's sad to hear of wild animals resorting to scrounging around human shit for a living because their natural environment has been 'devastated'.Theres nothing more brilliant than watching a red fox wander across a frosty field in the countryside. I think we should appreciate that foxes are still found in their natural habitat and pity these urban ones rather than gather up a hatred for

Ooooh, that's pretty horrible. The odd bad report with Tikka makes me think of CZ, because apart from the trigger, I never hear "i have/had a CZ and it didn't group" - they are always accurate rifles. Just with a somewhat suspect trigger... You haven't looked at that DVD I lent you yet have you.....it shows Derek Edgar in a starring role (as a comedian) Funnily enough, I had a look this morning - it's the worst thing in the whole world, I had to give up in disgust It is just so false, and staged and unnatural and neither of them can act... you have to laugh ...so tha

I wouldn't bother with the pump, get yourself an air bottle they are about the same price as a pump if not cheaper & it makes life a lot easier for you when charging the gun. Can't help thinking we may have discussed this before...situations/circumstances change but the bottle is without doubt the way to go. People do use the pumps, but start a poll..."pump or bottle" and see for yourself the overwhelming winner!!

i live in this area and i sometimes move them from one part of the forest to another to try and stop people shooting them i want them to get more established some of them have been traped and taged in the ear with a tracking device i move them about with the help of beddlingtoncross dogs they annoy but dont mixit Why...what is your objective, now and the future????

The Bolt is news to me as well and somehow I just don't go with comments "my mate says....." 5" groups and changing the gun, he should have tried changing the ammo first...simple! There are horror stories about Tikka, Sako, Remington, CZ, Savage, Howa, Winchester, Steyr, Ruger etc etc. Sadly things do go wrong and sometimes individually, and sometimes in batches, and it is of course very unfortunate when this happens. MOST of the horror stories outlined go, I've heard...., my mate....., I know someone...., very few are from owners of the individual tools, most of the owners are

Everyone is wondering off the original question a bit. There are several VERY good pellets out there and Crosman Accupels are very good but they do not suit some barrels or actions. My old Daystate Huntsman loved them but the Falcon Raptor hates them...but the pellets are very good. H&N FTT and Air Arms Field are also very good but just a bit heavier. Bisley Magnum are excellent but far too heavy for 12ft lb guns. If you have an older TRUE .22 then you wil probably find Eley Wasp BLUE best. Bottom line is, even if the pellets are excellent they may not suit your barrel or action

Took Mr_Logic out yesterday on a new piece of land I picked up on Thursday (actually to be specific we went in his motor). Anyway, the Farmer has a problem with most things but specifically the Deer and Fox. I already know the land quite well as I've been shooting on his neighbours for a while and get lots of the critters, and seen lots on his land. So off we go nice and early about 2.00pm to have a good look round in daylight. I'm out with the centrefire and Mr_L takes his rimmy, some 3 hours later having seen lots of signs but virtually no life its into the pub (next door) for a qui

I'm Secretary of a club at Bisley so I shoot there a lot, and my .223 is a Tikka T3 Lite. 600 yards is about all the way for the .223, although I do know a few people who use it quite regularly at 600. I was happy enough when I got the first one on the "board" at 600, it is a f*****g long way, and was just having a bit of fun, I usually target with it at 200 and sometimes 300 and rarely push it past 200 hunting!
-
155-310 Metres (ish) is getting a bit on the long side for everyday .223 whichever way you want to look at it. ALL the hunting tools are going to give you very similar performance. I know nothing of the laws over there and you make no mention of your type of Varmint, but May I suggest you think about 22-250 anyway which will give you the edge in accuracy (and stopping power) over these distances!
-
There is no answer as this is such a personal thing...I know one guy who insists on using 24X on his 12ft lb Air rifle to shoot rabbits at 20 yards!!! I think that's  but he likes it!! The distances you mention really are about the max you would expect to use a .223 for tops! I tend to use 6X on most of my scopes from Air rifle to Centrefire, day and night, target and hunting right up to about 200 yards. Only put the .223 through its paces at 600 yards at Bisley the once, but I seem to recall I was up to about 14X. As has largely been said, optical quality and light transmi

We all make mistakes and we all have to ask questions... Yes ..you will need a cabinet, and good reason and land and potentially a lot more You will have to justify your requirement, show good character, not have a criminal record (certain offences) or questionable medical history, its simple and fairly obvious really. One thing though, if you want a FAC: when you get your home visit from the FEO/FLO (whatever they want to call themselves in your area), don't say I've had lots of experience shooting Game birds in February with an Air Rifle!! There are various laws concerning shooting birds at night wether they be Game Birds or vermin species. Suffice to say there are plenty of legal ways to cover just about all your night shooting. The important wording is LAMPING (artficial light from just about any source). Lamping is NOT allowed for almost everything in the bird world.

Hi Ben,if you can,t shoot your quarry humanley why take the shot???To bring the power "up a bit" i would,nt recommend it unless you have a FAC as it could get you into all sorts of problems if you get your collar felt off the police .As for shooting pheasents with a airgun Deker has put up a topic on here WHAT CAN I SHOOT WITH A AIRGUN might be worth a look at And a quick look at Game Seasons which Ian B has pinned in the Rimfire/Centrefire/Shotguns section as well

Well done...good bit of craft! Always great when the plan comes together and the greys can be crafty buggers! Got to admit I'm getting lazy these days, given the chance I just let go with a 12g and number 5's. Problem solved instantly in one go! Seems like cheating really but it is effective! Cheers Deker

this is in the rimfire centerfire and shotgun section not air rifle It was a simple enquiry ..if you intend to answer one third of it with a crass response what about the other two thirds...I seem to recall a 16g is a shotgun and a .222 a centrefire rifle.
-
With an OPEN certificate the land does not have to be "cleared" for ANY calibre. Neither do you need WRITTEN permission from the owner, although we all know that is always very useful. It will be down to the certificate holder to decide, for whatever calibre they have on their OPEN FAC wether the land is suitable or not.
-
Can always be interesting to see peoples reactions although this one shouldn't be too complicated. I'm curious though, your list is extensive but within it, no sign of 16g which is certailny used a bit, and if you are up to .223 why no .222. Also, no mention of the air rifle, they take vast numbers of rabbit every year!!!! Probably one or two more as well. Cheers

It's all edible, my Game dealer wants them paunched but then sells them with everything else still in. Up to you if you eat them, give them to the cat or dump them!

Home Office Firearms Law Guidance to Police 2002 Exemptions from the requirement to hold a certificate Shot Guns 1968 Act Section 11(5) of the 1968 Act allows an individual, without holding a shot gun certificate, to borrow a shot gun from the occupier of private premises and use it on those premises in the occupiers presence. The presence of the occupier is normally taken to mean within sight and earshot of the individual borrowing the firearm. Rifles 1968 Act Section 16.1 of the Act enables a person to borrow a rifle from the occupier of private premises an
