  1. In that case can you pop round and "HELP" me dig my veg patch, fix my boiler, unblock my sink, put a new thermostat in my cooker and paint my whole house, inside and out? Thank you.... OUTSHOOTING
  2. If it is a detacheable bottle and not simply a resevoir...Yes!
  3. This is a real difficult one. Webley and Scott have done well over the last couple of years but their guns are simply Turkish made and Webley branded, having said they they do seem to offer reasonable value for money. On the other hand buying a better quality used gun may well be a good idea, and again as has been said, check out Guntrader.co.uk Whatever you decide..make sure it fits you! Make/Model/new/used must be down to you! ATB Deker
  4. Yep..I thought we had just done this... Check out the link above...anyway... prices at Blackpool Air Rifles (just an example) for £255 the Lightning, scope, mounts, mod ,pellets, slip..the whole lot.
  5. A little bit off topic but i was told Mixy was intoduced by man many years ago to try and control the rabbit population. Yep, around 55 years ago...worked well hasn't it!!! Many years ago a keeper friend of mine reconned when you saw a black rabbbit you would get an outbreak of mixy. That's a new one on me, how does that work out then when I find mixxy on a site where I have never seen a black bunny? Hey Ho! Lots of country tales, and great fun a lot of them are...got to remember there is a lot of "in breeding" in some rural communities as well :friends:
  6. I would not suggest the above! It doesn't matter on a SGC, there are no restrictions in principle, BUT, if he does ask why you want one, which he probably will, just say Clay Pigeon, once you have the grant you can use it for whatever you want (as long as it is legal). Once again let me say this is SGC NOT FAC, people seem to be getting the conditions a bit mixed up! ATB Deker
  7. I'm impressed, they offer good clarity and a fair price, they will be fine on the .22 centrefire range, I may have reservations if they were on top of a heavy hitting centrefire. I understand it is only a 1 year warranty on all their illuminated models though so watch out! If you are looking in this price range check out some of the Hawke, AGS (Webley) etc ranges. Some of all of these scopes are c**p but there are some worth looking at in each range! Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50. Robust, bright, readily available and everyone rates them, got to be worth a look, shop around,
  8. FOR SGC Colour part above is all you need, plus complying with age, storage, medical, legal requirements. You do not need to be in a club. You do not need land. And for 1 Shotgun you do not need a cabinet, ground anchorage is allowed, although they will "expect" to see a cabinet (best not to dissapoint). FAC is another story altogether!
  9. DEATH TOOL ..it runs at 26ft lb so I guess it is,..... frankly, I am very surprised how accurate they are (even in 12ft lb) as the barrel is about as flexible as a Bass Guitar String! I'm off this afternoon to use a bit more powerful Death Tool, around 2600ft lb. ATB Deker PS..things just don't seem to be quite the same at Theoben these days since the partners went their seperate ways!

  11. I don't bother with mixxy rabbits either but for the first day or two of infection there are no external signs. look at the liver ,if it has white spots it has mixy Never noticed this but will check a few in known areas. Mixxy rabbits are meant to be more tender and tastier than uninfected...I have no desire to test the theory! Mixxy was introduced more than 50 years ago to this country and it is inconceivable than no infected ones have been eaten. No cases have ever been reported in humans or in any other animal/bird that I am aware of. Don't be too concerned!
  12. Plastic bags in the boots...good tip, I like that, but I think I will try a repair. And...... yes I'm poor and need to prioritise, £10 on boots or 4 pints down the local (only 3 in some)...just let me think about that a minute...

  14. thanks for the help guys you have strenghened my ideas of getting air arms .... so most of you think classic long barrel few say carbine 1 said tdr so its down to carbine or classic can any body say they have fired both ???? can any 1 tell me there experience with the two rifles?? is there any probs with them ????some other makes suffer from seals ect Balance is different but you soon get used to either. You are really on your own now, you have to decide what suits you best or 100 shots per charge Accuracy wise there is very little to chose between either. D
  15. You can drink a lot of Scotch in half an hour! Enjoy..the world is opening up, those pigeons won't know what hit them, but don't hit the ferrets!!!
  16. If we are talking in the value for money stakes then try the Lightning. Just remember BSA/Gamo are more than just friends these days so check them all out! Do your best to stay away from anything that says "Made in China"
  17. Deker, I use the .243 most of the time for fox and roe/fallow and some very limited red hind stalking, only bought the 308 because it belonged to a mate who wanted a 30.06 for boar and some african stuff, and thought it would be a good calibre to have if ever i go and shoot boar or get to shoot some big buck/stags. I have a Swarovski 8-56 which is great. I have heard very good things about the Ase range which one do you use as i have only been told about the Jet-Z and the S5. Do you not think you one moderator will do both well enough? Thanks Jon Jet-Z and the S5. They do
  18. I suspect most will come back with the T8. These do a perfectly adequate sound suppressing job but build quality is not that great. I use the ASE range on centrefires now, they are built like the proverbial "brick sh*t house" but depends which one you get weight can be a bit of a problem! Cost a bit more than the T8 Whatever...if you have a .243 and .308 barrel you are going to need 2 different sizes to do the job properly! So on top of a fairly hefty price I suspect you have already paid there is a chunk more to spend yet. What is the gun for and what scope are you using?
  19. Help....I've got a pair of decent buckle up wellies that I hardly ever wear, what I almost always use is a real cheap pair from Homebase, B&Q etc..you get the picture. Well, my last pair have had their day so I splashed out about £10 for a new pair just after Christmas. I'm now getting 2 little dirty spots appearing on the socks due to 2 tiny leaks. I'm pretty sure I punctured then a few days back kicking brambles out of the way. Question is, how about sticking something like an inner tube patch on top...any ideas. I know they were only cheap but my previous pair lasted for
  20. How old/what sort of condition is this in? Sounds like the valve is sticking on the bottle and you will obviously have to get a new seal, sounds like a chat with BSA or your local dealer could be in order.
  21. Bottles as used for Air rifles must have a test every 5 Years. (Diving bottles used for diving have to be checked more frequently, 3 or 4 years I think). Price will be different for different sizes and depending where you take it. My 12L 232bar was tested about 18 months ago and cost about £28.
  22. DS I think Richard G put it quite well but I also agree with you.... As for shooting anything up the behind? Sounds viable. Just doesn't sit right with me. I suspect though that virtually any centrefire placed as suggested would have more than enough power to cause considerable damage and the instant demise of the victim! Cheers Deker
  23. Don't know is the simple answer as I run Falcon. Check out the AA site www.air-arms.co.uk to find out the size of resevoir fill pressure and shots per charge, you can work it out! Either that or hope one the the AA owners can give you some advice! Cheers
  24. The BOTTLE filled from a Dive Centre will have Clean Dry Air...you will NOT get condensation in the gun resevoir. If you fill from a pump you get atmospheric air which is damp and dirty, whatever filters you get will not be as good as Divers Bottled Air. As already said, if you get a pump it is hard work and you MUST use the filters or you will get dirt and damp in the resevoir...NOT good news!

    rabbits

:11: Did you ask him what reason there was not to shoot rabbits for 8months of the year? hi yes i think he was trying to imply most rabbits are milky then and i would be spoiling my future sport by shooting them He is pulling your plonker or has been on too many of the happy pills. Rabbits breed from Feb to October (on the whole) November December January all have R's in. They are all seriously "milky" in May, June, July and August when apparently he says it's ok to shoot them! Give him another bottle and go shoot some rabbits..if you run out find some more land
