skipster You can go on forever like this, there are lots of guns out there and people will always have their preferences for one reason or another. Just because someone favours a make or model it doesn't mean that will be right for you. The 525 is a very good gun, the 682 is a very good gun (but never been a great fan of the engraving) but now you bring up Mr Berettas Silver Pigeon! I think it is the Mk5 or is it the Mk6 we are up to now? I have to think back, and don't shout at me if I'm wrong, but I think it was the Mk3 that experienced some level of grief with the finish in the

Model 1322 I've had reason to get this out again recently and would like to get it back in working order! I guess this is about 15 years old. It's underlever pump and the "seals" have gone somewhere as with each pump the air can be heard escaping, and you can't keep enough in it to get a pellet out of the barrel. I took in to my local gun dealer about 5 or 6 years ago to fix and after about 6 weeks he said he couldn't fix it and didn't know anyone who could. What he was actually saying was..."I'm not a Crosman dealer and can't be arsed with it"...so much for trying to s

I've dealt with one of the north's leading airgun dealers for a long time. I've never been pushed to buy anything. Yes they stock products from air gun manufacturers ( ). That's part of the job but you make it sound like everyone is a money grabbing arse which really isn't the case at all. I will stick my neck out and say that they are unbiased sportsmen. They stock reliable products that have been tested on the range, and in the field, and are a gold mine of advice for the new shooter. This isn't naivety this is genuine support directed to the enthusiasts in the industry. They sell products

if a governing body like defra cant control them what chance have you got troy11 Who the F**k are you and what is your agenda....you come on here as a new boy with strange comments about shifting Boar around, spout off about doing what you want and it being nodoby elses business and telling everyone else they have no idea and can have no effect...but apparently you can. As a very good friend of mine from Uni always used to say Put up, Shut up or f**k off...PLEASE!

There are some very strange comments and views from a few NEW people to this site on this thread!

Look..calm down everyone..we seem to be wondering a bit your right about the 22 r.f for close range work or confined spaces till you miss and the 22 slug goes pinging off all over ! ??? I'm a bit lost ..are you suggesting a missed or even hit shot with a centrefire would be better in THESE circumstances???

Nope, the new farm I took you too last Saturday next to the pub! The charmed ones are on the sheep farm and await another night! Perhaps tomorrow!

Seems they have more faith in my ability than some, I can shoot foxes with my .22LR and anything from mice to deer with with my .223, that's what my cert says!!!. But my people think the .308 is too much gun for the fox, funny old world isn't it!

Deker , sorry to nit pick but isnt Miroku owned by Browning? please correct me if im wrong. i agree i prefer the Miroku to the Brownings even though they are the same company. i shoot a MK38 grade 5. thanks ss06 Well, I obviously I think not, I think the Japs bought (saved) the Yanks. But I'm not going to shout too loud because you could always be right. Someone confirm this one way or another please!! EDIT....Just done a bit more digging..from Browing website FAQ... 1977 90% of Browning Arms Company outstanding stock was purchased by FN and Miroku.

The girls last night met their Waterloo with my Tikka T3 Lite, 55g HP .223, although as John mentioned above I too often use the .22. The .22 is far better suited for smaller permissions or around the barns, stables, chickens etc! Recently been having a serious debate with a mange fox that has taken up residence in a hay loft and given the owners dog Fox mange. Small calibre, close range, confined conditions, top tool

Is life strange or what, I've been having an absolute mare in the fox department on the last 6 nights out after Charlie. Last night was night 7. Now for the last 10-14 days I've had my brothers Digital camera with me in the motor and got Nothing, car was in for service yesterday, took out all the valuable stuff and as bro collected me from the garage I gave him his camera back. Out last night with mate Steve and 2 foxes! Back at the motor at the end of the night I'm spouting off how typical it is to get some Charlie now, as I have no camera (I'm poor you see)....to which he repli

Fired the 525 and 682 not the other. But my choice would still be out of these 2 and almost certainly the Beretta. Both are good and both will perform well and hold their value, although I don't like 30" barrels, I stick to 28 on the whole. Beretta are currently the biggest shotgun manufacturer in the world and also own many other shotgun and rifle brands. Browning are now owned by Miroku, strange though it may seem this has helped the brand and their guns are good, but even stranger perhaps I prefer the Miroku brand to Browning. Deker

They offer 223 in 1:8 and 1:12 at the moment. The 1:8 is best for heavier bullets - 55gr and up to 70+. So yep, you're right He's smart ain't he this Mr_Logic! About 2-3 years back Tikka/Sako changed from1:12 to 1:8 twist on all their .223 Rem. They have now decided to go back to 1:12. For a while both will be available until stocks of 1:8 have all gone. Perhaps 1:10 then ...who knows??? Although according to the formula 1:12 does seem more appropriate on the whole... .....my old mate Sir Alfred George Greenhill worked out the twist rate formula....this is the time hono

Since John Darling died there hasn't been a decent airgun journalist. He was the exception that proved the rule. I've used airguns for over 20 years and tested products for 15 of them. I'm certainly not naive when it comes to the airgun industry, it's shooters and it's salesmen. The bloke behind the counter of your local gun shop is indeed a salesman. But he's independent. His business and his reputation are built on his quality of service. Most gun shops are started by enthusiasts. They're staffed by enthusiasts and attract enthusiasts. They stock products that they know about. They resea

Your motor is finished and all ready for you!!!!! Just collected it...bog standard service, NOTHING extra to do or report £289.35p **** me!!!

markieboi We have been here before and whilst you may be well intentioned in your quest for a private forum you are a little nieve. From any security or monitoring point of view it would only make a tiny difference. There are a million and one ways of getting round this, ask the 1000's of people who have been banned for life from BBS who are back on!

are those cheap air rifle scopes of ebay anygood
Deker replied to a topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Is that the 3.5-10X50???? Used to cost £210 in the uk for about 6 years but now generally available for around £150. F*****g brilliant scope for the money, and even better at £56+. -
Brilliant I am p****d off with the Fox at the moment, 5 nights out of the last 6 I've been out after Charlie and drawn a blank. His luck runs out tonight (I hope!). Is that a baby Fallow, does look rather small?

5 rabbits under a full moon
Deker replied to pigeonshooter76's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Brilliant...someone has a 10-22 that got 5 shots off without jamming Even more astonishingly, actually managed to hit something with it! -
Is that the farm from the 9-hour, 2-bunny trek the other day, by any chance That copse does offer the shooting as you are aware but it will still be some shot whatever we use! PS ...I'll have to get back into IT, less work and much better money than Game & Vermin Control

Well, I am looking at Tikka myself to replace my Sako, but it'll be 223 not 22-250. My Sako would do you nicely, in all seriousness! 5-shot detachable mag, a year old, in good nick, shoots very straight. My part ex value has been pretty naff so you will get a good price that's not too far away from a Tikka, depending on where you go.. snap i have ordered a Tikka T3 varmint s/s .223 what would you recomend as a zero range? arcpest I'd tend to go along with Mr_L but there is a bit more to the story, .223 ammo comes in a lot of varients and some are very flat and fast an

That is impossible to answer as people have their own individual preferences. I know one guy who insists on using 24x mag all the time shooting bunnies at 20 yards with his 12 ft lb. Now I think thats is crazy but he likes it! I tend to use 6X day and night, hunting and target on air rifle, rimfire and centrefire up to about 200 yards. If I'm down the range on a bipod at 200 or more yards I may push it up to 10X or maybe 12X, it suits me fine. 3 weeks ago I took the heart clean out of a bunny at 179yards at 02.00 on a misty morning, up to my ankles in mud leaning of a wet metal fa
