Hi arcpest, Whats the grouping like on your Tikka at 100 mts? I've got a Tikka T3 Lite s/s 1-8 and so far i can't get it to group at 100 mts looks more like i've used a shotgun!! I'm going to try some 75 grain ammo to see if i get on any better (69 brain Sierra's aren't doing it). smiffy My T3 is identical to yours! There is a general suggestion that the tighter the twist the heavier ammo, well........ don't ask me why, and don't ask Tikka (because I already have and they don't know either!) but the 1-8 twist works great with 55g and 62g so try some lighter ones not heavie

I run the 4-16x56 SWAT on my FAC Air Rifle. Bought it at the Game Fair about 3 years ago! Optics are clear and the Mil dot reticle is clear but fine at the same time. Sidewheel Parallax and 4" Sunshade. Build quality is not obviously the best in the world, but I like it and I've had no problems with it. AGS is Airgun Sport (Branded scope) who have now rebranded completely as Webley! Not seen the 8-32x56!

From an Airgun point of view I would suggest practice, as has been indicated. General airgun ranges will be 30-40 yards maximum so you should soon get used to things, but as you are already aware range is important. You will have to check distances as you zero so that will help, but again, light conditions, topography, woodlands or open fields all add to the confusion. Laser rangerfinders can be useful (and expensive) but if you use your gun regularly you will soon get used to distances. The fun and games and can really start when you talk about centrefires at 200, 300, 400, 500+ yards

I'm not looking for any congratulations, I'm simply trying to make the point that I'm not a spotty 15 year old asking if it's ok to shoot deer (or pheasants) with my air rifle. My first consideration is always safety and I am very well aware of the effects and potential effects of a great many cartridges...but no ...before you ask, (unlike most 15 year olds) I don't know it all and never will!

It was mentioned in an earlier posting here but can we all open our minds a bit and stop jumping to conclusions! I'm not sure where you are going...and I do not have a first choice gun for fox. I use the most appropriate gun and ammo for every situation to the best of my ability. When I'm shooting in a Hay Loft next to a stable full of 40+ horses and 30 yards from the owners house at night I am most likely to use a .22LR with 40g HP subs and a moderator (I do not use caps or shorts or longs or shotshells or high velocity HERE).. they aren't going bouncing anywhere, at last count ther

The FN19 is a cracking tool, the build quality is not the greatest but they are easy and fun to shoot. On top of that, and despite the fact the barrel is about as flexible as a Bass guitar string, they are very accurate! Check out.. http://falconowners.myfastforum.org http://www.falcon-airguns.co.uk Never shot this rifle Deker but what exaxtly do you mean about the barrel. The barrel is very thin and is incredibly flexible..REALLY.. ask any owner!!! BUT it's accuracy is legedary...and I don't understand why

Here we go again! Why don't you listen to the advice given instead of making smart arse comments? NO ONE on here is going to give you permission, you just have to go out and get it the same as everybody else. dude y dont u stop playing mod n keep out my posts Don't you think as a newbie who can't spell and wants something it would be a good idea to show some humility and respect, your posts reflect the fact you are 15 and the attitude you are displaying is not going to help you get any permission. You have had some sensible advice, act on it.

Bite your lip, chill out and accept some constructive criticism... I'm assuming it is 12ft lb...First off congratulations, you did very well as the powerpells are not very accurate, the accupells are better accuracy wise, but my Falcon doesn't like either. They also rattle around in the magazine. Second, like it or not you were lucky, a 12 ft lb FN19 is not a 70 yard tool, you will end up injuring far more than you kill, stick to around 30, and 40 yds max!

The slug should only be dangerous at the wrong end of the barrel. ANY shotgun slug will take down a Wild Boar at 20 yards. They are generally rated up to about 60yards maximum, fare amount of power at that distance although tailing off very quickly, but you would be lucky to hit a barn door at this sort of distance. Slugs are used in Europe for Boar but I have only been out the once after Boar and it was the UK! .308 was the favoured tool NOT slugs. Range goes up, accuracy is far better and stopping power is better.....I have a bit of an issue with a Boar at 20 yards, you will need

rusty Whilst I totally agree that's the way it should be, it isn't..even if she did move in after him the law gives him no protection..a noise offence is a noise offence yesterday, today and tomorrow!

Many thanks...God knows why it never occured to me to check Chambers!! And the crosman site looks useful..

This sort of situation is always difficult!! You potentially face a number of problems and the main one is trying to stay on reasonable terms with your neighbour ....... Surely if there's strange noises in the house or garden then its OK for the dogs to bark?? Am I wrong? No... it is not ok for them to bark if this can be judged a nuisance. Will it be investigated Or will I just get a letter threatening an ASBO? It should be investigated...if it was you complaining you would expect it to be investigated. It is most unlikely you will receive a letter threatening anything!! Is it

skipster You can go on forever like this, there are lots of guns out there and people will always have their preferences for one reason or another. Just because someone favours a make or model it doesn't mean that will be right for you. The 525 is a very good gun, the 682 is a very good gun (but never been a great fan of the engraving) but now you bring up Mr Berettas Silver Pigeon! I think it is the Mk5 or is it the Mk6 we are up to now? I have to think back, and don't shout at me if I'm wrong, but I think it was the Mk3 that experienced some level of grief with the finish in the

Model 1322 I've had reason to get this out again recently and would like to get it back in working order! I guess this is about 15 years old. It's underlever pump and the "seals" have gone somewhere as with each pump the air can be heard escaping, and you can't keep enough in it to get a pellet out of the barrel. I took in to my local gun dealer about 5 or 6 years ago to fix and after about 6 weeks he said he couldn't fix it and didn't know anyone who could. What he was actually saying was..."I'm not a Crosman dealer and can't be arsed with it"...so much for trying to s

I've dealt with one of the north's leading airgun dealers for a long time. I've never been pushed to buy anything. Yes they stock products from air gun manufacturers ( ). That's part of the job but you make it sound like everyone is a money grabbing arse which really isn't the case at all. I will stick my neck out and say that they are unbiased sportsmen. They stock reliable products that have been tested on the range, and in the field, and are a gold mine of advice for the new shooter. This isn't naivety this is genuine support directed to the enthusiasts in the industry. They sell products

if a governing body like defra cant control them what chance have you got troy11 Who the F**k are you and what is your agenda....you come on here as a new boy with strange comments about shifting Boar around, spout off about doing what you want and it being nodoby elses business and telling everyone else they have no idea and can have no effect...but apparently you can. As a very good friend of mine from Uni always used to say Put up, Shut up or f**k off...PLEASE!

There are some very strange comments and views from a few NEW people to this site on this thread!

Look..calm down everyone..we seem to be wondering a bit your right about the 22 r.f for close range work or confined spaces till you miss and the 22 slug goes pinging off all over ! ??? I'm a bit lost ..are you suggesting a missed or even hit shot with a centrefire would be better in THESE circumstances???
-
Nope, the new farm I took you too last Saturday next to the pub! The charmed ones are on the sheep farm and await another night! Perhaps tomorrow!

Seems they have more faith in my ability than some, I can shoot foxes with my .22LR and anything from mice to deer with with my .223, that's what my cert says!!!. But my people think the .308 is too much gun for the fox, funny old world isn't it!

Deker , sorry to nit pick but isnt Miroku owned by Browning? please correct me if im wrong. i agree i prefer the Miroku to the Brownings even though they are the same company. i shoot a MK38 grade 5. thanks ss06 Well, I obviously I think not, I think the Japs bought (saved) the Yanks. But I'm not going to shout too loud because you could always be right. Someone confirm this one way or another please!! EDIT....Just done a bit more digging..from Browing website FAQ... 1977 90% of Browning Arms Company outstanding stock was purchased by FN and Miroku.

The girls last night met their Waterloo with my Tikka T3 Lite, 55g HP .223, although as John mentioned above I too often use the .22. The .22 is far better suited for smaller permissions or around the barns, stables, chickens etc! Recently been having a serious debate with a mange fox that has taken up residence in a hay loft and given the owners dog Fox mange. Small calibre, close range, confined conditions, top tool
