  1. I took Mr L out last night to help him add to his ever growing tally of foxes. Had a few bunnies but also 3 foxes altogether, Mr L accounted for 2 in fine fashion but according to his new fangled lazer rangefinder I had the longest of the night at just short of 200yards. (can't remember now what he said 193, 197 I think) Not looking for records but that is a long one for me, I don't usually even try that far out and prefer to get them in closer, and probably only ever had a handful over 200yards in all my days, so that came a a nice surprise. Turned out a good night weather wise
  2. What scope have you got?? If you cannot adjust the scope to get the right eye relief with the mounts you have there are a million and one types available. CZ themselves do loads, but so do many others, do a web search and you will find something that works.
  3. Parden????? Quote by yourself from above!!!! "I dont mean to sound daft but is the rib the barrel?" 7 years shooting shotguns, regular clay shoots and 11 lessons, come on Guevara, there is only so much bull most people can take! You have asked a lot of crazy questions in your short time on this site, you have been given an awful lot of help and advice by many people! Today you want to know about, and go waterfowling, yesterday you wanted to go big game hunting in Europe, you bought a shotgun and got stitched up, you want to find all sorts of short cuts to getting a FAC, no
  4. The .177 or .22 debate will be going on long after I am compost, they each have their uses, they each favour certain conditions (and people) and .22 is the accepted hunting round and .177 the accepted target round. What is best to choose is what you want! Do what you want with either! There is absolutely NO answer to the question "what would be best to choose". About time this one found it's way onto FAQ>>>>>>!!!!!!!!!
  5. As already said there are some crazy tools out there which in most cases have very little practical use, they are fun excercises in what can be done. Probably the most readily available would be the Air Ranger from Daystate which runs up to 80ft lb. Still a mystery to me what use it has or why anyone would ever want to buy one!
  6. For a quick idea of what's available at what prices check out guns for sale on Guntrader.co.uk
  7. You can hit bunny out as far as you can in the right conditions. Many people tend to zero subs at 50-60 yards and high velocity at 60-100 yards. Generally, you do not want to be pushing out much more than this although many have taken much longer and succesful shots..but they don't come off that often, don't push too far! A decent 40g sub sonic with a big HP, like Magtech or Winchester with peel back like a mushroom on contact with bunny and cause a lot of damage. Absolutely no need for a head shot with this stuff, as long as you don't shoot him in the arse he's dead. Head shots alway
  8. Just as well you don't want an auto HMR, they are not even available as semi auto in this country! Do you like your .22, CZ452? Sort of answers the question I think!
  9. and you don't know and have never heard of a rib?????? How old are you, eye dominance does not creep up on you after about 12 or 14...you have it ..fact, sometimes it can be "adjusted"! When do you intend to fill in some of your personal profile?? If you don't intend to I would be interested to hear why!
  10. Big Game hunting, rifles, shotguns , Game hunting, rough shooting, clays, targets, waterfowling.....can't help thinkig you need to sit down and decide what you want!
  11. It is the commonly expected norn to pay for goose, wildfowling, game birds and sometimes pigeon. In addition hare and deer also sometimes come into this category. Gereral game and vermin control, is on the whole, accepted as free! There are of course exceptions to everything though! I do not pay any of my landowners for shooting or taking game, and some of them pay me! Everything edible goes in the freezer or to the game dealer or is sold privately so I make a few quid more! Of course the landowners sometimes want a rabbit or two or a bit of venison etc and they get a Christmas ca
  12. If you don't have a rib sitting on the top of your barrel(s), use your barrel! You will not hit anything lining the bead up it is a single point...use the length of the barrel or the rib!
  13. As asked .222 or .223...no question .223! Far bigger choice of ammo, far bigger choice of guns, far cheaper ammo, far better future proofed than .222! 22-250 was not asked, but it is flatter and harder hitting, fair choice of guns, ammo is nowhere near as cheap as 223 and nowhere near the choice. Well known for eating the barrels a bit quick! .222 and .223 I see as similar but go for .223 every time! 22-250 I see as different to both!
  14. Take the bead off and throw it away...use the rib! I don't know why shotgun manufacturers bother with the bead!
  15. I have 2 sites that could do with a bit of ferreting, one in South Berks and one in East Berks! If you are up for it and want some fun let me know asap! Deker
  16. All being equal, in principle, always go for the best light transmission!
  17. I can' help thinking you have asked this question before in numerous ways in PM's. I have responded in some detail, if you doubt what I say ask your local FEO for a specific answer!
  18. Whilst I absolutely agree, I am amazed to hear of such things from the keyboard of Foxdropper!
  19. Well..there you go...not many days go by when I don't learn something! So... a couple of variations on the theme but I would not be confident in any. Lots of ways to minimise rounds fired to zero but at the end of the day I would not trust any of these methods without live fire tests! But some useful hints and tips!
  20. You may want to consider joining this club now...... http://czowners.ipbfree.com/index.php?
  21. Flippin ek...you guys are at it again...apathy is rife in the shooting fraternity or someone would have kicked the pathetic and self centred NRA into touch years ago. The UK shooter (sporting enthusiast) is, and will continue to be walked all over by antis, Sun readers and politicians concerned about their jobs. The Sporting associations, BASC, CA, SACS, NRA, CPSA, ETC, ETC, ETC, have one simple overriding interest ...SELF PRESERVATION. And before you all start to slag me off..consider... who is the first MD to lose their job, who is the first Chief Executive, who is the first XXXXX.
  22. Have a word with GMK, they are the importers.
  23. Hmmm... Not come across those before. Pretty decent then? Winchester in effect went tits up a couple of years ago..for the second or third time, their Model 70 which had a very wide product range and had been in production for about 50 years I think, went tits up as well. Winchester was owned by Browing/Miroku and I think in the end FN in Belgium (or some old malarky like this). Anyway.. the model 70 is a f*****g good gun and I can't help but think if Winchester had stuck to their core business they would still be around. On the plus side I saw an article about 3 months back
  24. Sticks, bipods, fences, gates etc etc are very unlikely to effect your zero on a rimmy. The effect of chancing the zero is more commonly noticed on centrefires off bipods etc when using a "heavy" moderator, or simply pulling to hard down when using them. Using sticks on a HMR would have advantages on some shots in some situations but balance this with having to carry them, when you can often find a useful tree, fence post, gate etc!

    Scum of the earth

Different cultures and different countries ARE different, I don't have any problem with anybody eating ANY meat if they so desire...I am, however, not happy with any "cruelty" that may be involved....and that means Halal too!!. If an animal is to die for food, we should at least kill it quickly!
