  1. You are right SS..it's not dead yet..it is of course a decent calibre and has many uses..just like the Hornet ...but times, circumstances and situations move on...it almost makes you cry that it is a .222 Remington, and Remington no longer chamber any gun in .222 Except this one: http://www.remington.com/products/firearms...l_799_specs.asp Although their website and reality, hmmm, and the odds of getting one over here I suspect are slim to none I liked the look of this back when I could be arsed to try to find Hornet ammo... Well that's a novelty...they forgot to put
  2. Done both and only ever use the meths now! I find the salt difficult to get all the way down, with the meths I just put the whole tail in a screw top jar, fill will meths and leave for about 10 days. You can salvage almost all the meths for the next one!! Good wash after treatment (I use shampoo) and a SLOW dry...absolutely brilliant results and no smells either!!
  3. I have the Tikka T3 Lite, 1-8 twist in .223 and it does seem to be able to handle a lot of ammo (including the cheap stuff) quite well, but I note that Sako/Tikka are going back to the 1-12 twist for the .223 which all the equations say is the twist you need!!!
  4. Keep trying!!! You can go to lots of job interviews as well but you have to keep trying..all being well it will work out ..but it can take some time!! Check out the farms/estates/country homes/stables/business estates, etc, etc!!!
  5. Your question involves SGC and FAC potentially.....I would go along with the last post...check SS in the pinned section and then ask more if you need to.....!!
  6. The new trigger is definately an improvement X Mark Pro I think ...I can't remember!!
  7. Pull up a seat and get comfortable.... Got a call from one of my landowners a couple of days ago as some land is up for auction (which I have rights on as well)...a couple of small areas are fenced off..its a long story...but the suggestion is the Badger has moved in and they wanted me to confirm this and then write a report for the auction house.... and why was this...????? Because the land has a guide price of £25K per acre....yep £25K per acre for grazing land, with limited access and NO CHANCE of getting any planning permission!! So my landowner friends wanted Badger to be in
  8. I run Tikkas for my centrefires but...... I was close to buying the SPS for my last 243 and it is a very strong contender for my new .308. A pal has just got the SPS DM in .308 and I cannot believe the performance/weight equation......and f****** brilliant value for money!!! Lots will say the build quality is not the greatest, but it works and shoots straight and lasts..so what more do you want...and there are also loads of 3rd party spares available, so no problem if you want to tart it up!!!
  9. Divide the Watts (Lamp Power) by the Volts, (12) this will give you amps....if the battery is 7 amps divide by the system amp draw to find battery life...... Example 30 watts lamp, divided by 12 volts = 2.5 amps draw So a 7 amp battery divided by 2.5 amp draw should last nearly 3 hours 10 amp battery 4 hours 17 amp battery nearly 7 hours These are the MAXIMUM times you would expect under ideal conditions with PERFECT equipment..you will NEVER achieve this, so always expect a bit less all round!!! Wiring wise, you can buy 7, 9 and 10 amp 12v batteries so no need for
  10. I run the Tikka in .223 and .243....have Optilock mounts and although mine have not caused any problems I consider them to be f****** useless and vastly overpriced..but with a 56 objective you may have a problem finding anything else!

    NEW LAMP

Admit it Malt, you're out in the middle of nowhere on the darkest stormiest night of the year, it's about to start lashing down and you're miles from anywhere.... You'd miss that reassuring feeling that any second now you're lamps going to go blink... blinkblink... blink...................................................................... :censored:  There speaks a true Lightforce owner!!
  12. Tie them on your whip aeriel on your Lambretta!!
  13. Cage, Fox trapping is simple in principle but can be a nightmare....I have caught them day one, and other times been after then for 3 months and they walk all around the trap absolutely refusing to go in!!
  14. Stork I'm getting the impression everything is not rosey at the moment......keep your chin up..believe in what you want and go for it! Life has hardly started for you yet; take it from an old boy that you can make it happen!!
  15. Good on you..enjoy...going down to 6-7c tonight...OH YES...its TV remember, Ray has a whole team to help him as well as researchers, sponsorship and a decent budget!!! Then he buggers off to the motor home or local hotel

  17. Apparently still some decent deals about...Mr L had the laminated heavy barrel in .223...good, but weighed a ton...anyway from what I have seen/used them they seem pretty reasonable...but I hate the normal stock... The Japanese are well known for making lots of things and bring their work ethic to guns as well these days!!
  18. Well...it seems your mind is made up, but I struggle to understand why you did not buy an Daystate air wolf tactical mvt to start with ..or keep the 510....I don't get what has prompted this sudden change of mind or what the Daystate offers which is so much better that you want to chuck the 510 in after such a short time...Especially as it costs 2-2.5 times the money (£1000++++++)!!! ...anyway atb..hope things work out!!
  19. Simple answer is no...not specifically, that is all a bit heavier than I use....55g on the whole, 62g max for me....but worth a word with... http://www.peterlawman.co.uk/ http://www.tfsa.co.uk/ ...... or let your fingers do the walking round the web!!
  20. http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/ http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/ http://www.uttings.com/ Some of these will probably help...also remember in these tuff times, I'll bet they will beat any price you can find...ASK!!!!!
  21. If you are in any doubt just ask GMK.... http://www.gmk.co.uk/
  22. I have not noticed that leaving dead rabbits out attracts others and don't know of any sure fire rabbit attractant! But who knows, got to be worth a try, let us know how you get one.
  23. I have used AA Fields for years in 5.51mm after trying loads of different pellets, they work for me and more and more people as well it appears!! Also seem to suit lots of different guns!!!
  24. The maths is pretty straightforward but glass, printing/etching of reticles is always down to quality and precision.....even expensive scopes don't get it right all the time!! Check it yourself as you have, and work with your figures!! As a matter of interest how did you measure the 30 metres and 100 yards and 76 metres??
  25. May have taken a bit of time but a satisfying result by the looks of things!!
