Mixxy was introduced around 60 years ago...within 4 years it had killed 98% of rabbits in England, a couple of years ago the government announced there were MORE rabbits in England now than when Mixxy was first introduced....... YEP...they will be back on your permission!!

You're either a lousy shot or got an awful lot of rabbits!!!! lot of rabbits. Sort of thought you may go for that option, but not many get more than 50 rabbits in a night!! last week there was three of us shooting the driver passanger and me out the sun roof we got 175 wabbits See I'm just a tart...NEVER shot 175 rabbits in a night with anything....just shoot regularly and keep the land under control...10-20-30 a night, very rarely any more, another problem is; other than 2 VERY large estates in Berkshire, the vast majority are under about 100 acres and EV
  10. Ok..I knock down plenty of rabbit, squirrel, deer, game birds etc during the year...AND eat plenty of it!!! Just in from digging my TINY veg patch, which often accompanies my free range meat, I am fortunate that I also get loads of "fertiliser" from the farms/stables which helps the veg patch..... Anyway...just curious how many of you grow your own veg as well...??? Also make my own Sloe Gin (great) and try the Elderberry Flower wine (not very good at that).... Find a few assorted "mushrooms" and had some great giant puffballs this year as well in the fields... Anyway..I su
  11. If we assume it is the same ammo and a reputable manufacturer then the answer SHOULD be NO. Obviously, if you change ammo the answer is yes, but if you are hunting, a couple of shots to check is always a good idea anyway!!
  12. I have EXACTLY the same AGS on my Falcon (26ft lb)..hardly quality of manufacture but I like it, and the light transmission and Mil Dot is good (IMHO)..the 30 mm tube helps as well!! For an HMR I don't think anything more than this is required; I next to never use more than 6x and the AGS is very good at this mag....!!
  13. I have EXACTLY the same scope on my .22LR Silhouette and it is perfectly adequate, my CZ Silhouette HMR has a 4-16 but I almost alway use 6x, with a maximum of 8 x for hunting, the only reason I like a bit more is to scan around and have a close look.....don't remember the last time I EVER shot above 12 times..not even at 600Yards at Bisley!!
  14. Another satisfied customer!!! This site is such a help to soo many people........I've been shooting more years than I care to remember but THL has helped me loads as well!!!

  20. Ok guys, i stand to be shot down, but this is what I did;. Got the .22 Ruger 77/22 VBZ. Had the all weather Ruger last time and was well impressed, so bought the .17 Savage HMR with thumbhole stock/stainless shit Happy bunny destroyer mehinks. Not shot either yet, prop be a couple of weeks, but, heh, pretty happy so far? Tackle/gun tart? Each to their own, that's why there are still a few different manufacturers and guns to choose from!
  21. It's down to individual choice but I would not even consider anything that began with an 8 on an HMR. Start with a 3, 4 or 6 maximum! Nothing wrong with a 42 objective as long as the glass is good ..but I would suggest 3-12, or 4-16, someting like this, just my opinion.
  22. I get the impression jamie likes bore snakes, it's quite well known I think that I'm not a fan at all...but hey ...forums..that's what they are all about...a mixture of views and opinions i wouldnt use one on the centrefire inless i have only had a couple of shots then i would. the key to the boresnake is to make sure you pull it out level and not at a angle because it could rub the crown. i would never use a bronze brush in my rifles as i think they do more harm then good. nylon brushes on the other hand are perfect. the only reason i dont use a rod on rimfires is becaus
