  1. Thanks Phil. I have a granddaughter to her here also (the white terrier is her daughter )
  2. Grand sire is razor both sides mate. Just a pup. Caught his first rabbit today.
  3. Just as mad for it to Ray ? looks like someone’s nans pet ?
  4. Bit of rabbit bushing this afternoon for an hour.
  5. Quite nice to actually talk about dogs.
  6. Can see your thinking mate and makes sense, you have to start somewhere.
  7. I just think the point he was making is that if you want to lock traits in from your bitch then better going back to a related dig of same line but maybe a faster stamp. By going back to a grey you do add the speed but it’s a big jump away from the ‘line’ you wish to keep, as the pups will be 50% non related blood. If you then put that out to another unrelated dog then you’re miles away from what you started with in terms of line. One option would be to go to a grey then a bitch pup from that litter to best litter brother to your bitch etc.
  8. But of chat about line breeding but it’s only line breeding if breeding related dogs together and then the out cross to freshen it up a bit if it goes too close.
  9. A very good collie grey type all rounder. Superb dog. Flacko has his forums mixed up I think.
  10. Just to add I’m talking about a collie
  11. I meant as in if you breed two merles together abs get away with it, you seem to get more problems if you breed from that apparently sound Merle x Merle animal. If that makes any sense
  12. It can cause issues for future gens. I have a bitch who has Merle both sides. She’s ok, a little tapped in the head but not deaf or blind. But I’ve bred two litters out of her to two totally different dogs with no Merle abs both litters have har deaf pups. Mind you my folks have ‘deaf Eric’ (sounds like a 70s rock band) who is trained on hand signals and takes lead from the rest of the pack anyway.
  13. They are both c*ck wombles. Can’t believe they found someone a bigger c*nt than packham.
  14. We’ve probably already answered this in various forms before. I think most of us would agree that there is as much variation within breeds and types and between sometimes. But you do get certain ‘givens’ with some breeds or crosses over others. Also the parents and grand parents mean more than the %s etc most of the time. So in theory a three quarter grey quarter Sal should be quick enough for anything, have the stamina for a bit and if they are bred out of parents worth breeding from should come to something worth feeding in theory on the way they put together and more importantly t
  15. I doubt that bull x deer hound would have got within a football field of a coyote. I believe it killed itself running into a gate but I might have the wrong dog
  16. Some members Nat remember the fantastic threads by Dan Edwards, up hill doc and stunt man. Some great action and some great dogs. That yellow stitch dog was some animal. Sadly they got sick of the muppets eventually and left. I was thinking today, does anyone remember Ned Makin and the great thread he had rolling about his days and night pig hunting. Both those guys had some brilliant single handed dogs and the threads were great. Now we have where can I get a Beddy whippet and some shit about beans ?
  17. I’d just be slipping the local coyote hound type they have been keeping for years and work ?
  18. Yer collie curs are a little bit cooler than collie xs. Just a bit more rugged and genuine.
