  1. Also for the record I was very hesitant to put up this post. The dog has killed all game with me, she’s just not what I want in a dog.
  2. It wasn’t bred for what I do. That’s the simple answer. She was bred for a different job on different ground. She was bred for hunting foxes on rough ground. She wasn’t bred for firing at fast moving game on 100 plus acre arable fields. That’s the simple truth. She doesn’t have the legs for what I do. I’d put her down, but take her out on a walk on the right ground and she’s impressive in a lot of ways.
  3. Yes mate I know. Like I said she can stay if I don’t find right place, will probably spay her as well.
  4. Trust me I’ve considered it. But it most folk who see her like her, she just isn’t for me.
  5. I do get what you are saying, but I’ve been around enough dogs to know what I see. She may well come a bit more, and she has killed most things for me here. She’s just not quite what I’m after. I have a dozen dogs here at the moment and I feel she would be more suited to someone else. Like I said if I don’t find right person she will stay.
  6. I’m not the greatest fan of people so I have quite a good ars*hole filter.
  7. Depends what you wanted to do with her mate. For what I want she hasn’t as much jacked as just doesn’t show the kind of heart and drive for it I would like. Shes good at some stuff and would suit someone who does that, I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for her as she was a sad dog when she came here and now she’s a happy thing, shows quite a bit of promise for day time mooching etc
  8. Tried to pm you but you’re too popular
  9. Not overly something I want to discuss on an open forum, but she will catch something’s ok on some ground and in some situations but she isn’t built for firing at fast moving things on big arable, either she isn’t built for. Or she doesn’t want it or a bit of both. I took her on as shed been messed about and was a bit of a nervous wreck, and had no manners etc. I got her to a point where she’s come on real well and will probably come on more, but I’ve a main dog here who can take as much work as I stick in front of it, the young coursing SIG coming on and a pup that’s a week old heading my way
  10. This is it, I’ve seen yours and a few other folks older dogs and all look and seem the real deal, but don’t see many young dogs of that breeding and size out and about doing the job so would like to see one. No reason other than curiosity!
  11. She isn’t for sale, she’s to go to a decent person who will give her a chance and she will come back to me if she don’t suit. She’s a big lump of a dog, looks like a half x bull grey, but she be suited to rabbiting and the odd other thing, she’s tracked a few bits but she isn’t what I need for here.
  12. I’ve a Lurcher bitch here that I’d like to rehome, but it’s a bit of a mine field as the world is full of c*nts. She’s a handy dog and a nice animal to have around but doesn’t suit me for my ground. For someone who does a lot of rabbiting or mooching she would be ideal. Jumps, retrieves, good recall, manners on lamp, works with bushers, will catch abs carry feather etc. Great with people and other dogs. She’s a collie bull grey and she’s about two. If I don’t find the right home she will stay here and just come out on mooches with the pack but I’ve young dogs here and it’s not ideal for her or
  13. Thts what I’m trying to say ? if there’s a non idiot on here with a good one get in touch.
  14. Still never seen a good deerhound x, would be interested to see one run.
  15. I have to apologise im not sure I messaged you back my heads been in the shed a bit as they say. Are you still after a busher pup?
  16. Yes mate, class little dog, massive character, awesome rat killer and loves flushing bigger stuff. I believe there may be a repeat mating on the cards. Little dogs doing well, kept the two in the end but one just went to a lad who’d had a bit of crap luck with the dogs.
  17. What’s the crack with deer ? Why is it a problem ?
  18. I don’t. I imagine there’s one person who may still have them, but the man who started it and bred them is getting on and doesn’t keep them anymore. I always regret not sticking my old mans cocker over her. When I came down south, she was too much dog. She spends her days in Wales rattling around the woods with my folks Motley pack of spaniels and collies, my mum frequently reports missing hound / hound in a hole / hound has killed a creature stories. It keeps her and them fit and they live in a place you can pretty much do what you like.
