  1. IF you've had ferrets for "most of your life" and have only been bitten once you must be very young!
  2. I Marshalled there between 81 and 85. Fantastic times on the grounds and at The Scari. Lost my driving licence there and I met some great people. Some of the best times of my life (except the driving ban)! Cheers, D.

  4. Know what you mean, came back from morning exercise today, young dog had a limp, checked him out and he had a deep cut between his web between his first two toes on the front left leg.Cleaned it up but it needed vet treatment. With anaesthetic, local and general, antbiotics, resuss jab and stitches and treatment on saturday afternoon I'm looking at £120 plus and the dog is out of work for the best part of a month. Bleddy dawgs! Cheers, D.
  5. Try putting the dog in the car when it's parked up, maybe giving it a treat to get it used to associating the car with "good" When this has happened a few times, start the car and repeat the processs, get the dog used to being in the car when it's running but not moving first then try a few short trips around the block, gradually building up the distance. HTH. Cheers, D.

Seen them at Maine Road in the 's. Awesome, more classic tracks than any other band going. Cheers, D.
  20. A lurcher is "traditionally" a sighthound (grey, whippet, saluki, afghan(!), borzoi (!) etc etc crossed with a working or pastoral dog (collie, Alsation, Beddy,) etc etc. and a long dog is Lurcher to Lurcher mating or sight hound to sight hound, ie Saluki/Grey or so I was brought up to believe. Cheers, D.
  21. amen to that, you get what you pay for,if its for pleasure about a field then maybe i would buy one and take a chance.but if for work, you need a strong, reliable workhorse that wont be laid up while waiting for some taiwanese part to be sent. I bought a new Chinese Loncin 250 quad about 18 months ago. Got it fom a local agricultural merchants with full warranty. It's got a Yam 250 engine, 2WD with reverse and tow ball and racks, all road legal and have a had a few niggles, (broken indicator relay, slipping gears, exhaust coming loose) but for £2300 OTR (inc. muck boots

Just spent 48 quid this morning on a new pair, the Esk. Holed one of the others big style on a piece of granite. Two years old and still going strong although the heel socks wear out. They are warm, comfy but a bit slippy, especially when walking across a wet sloping grass field. Cheers, D.
