  1. Good news for you John and hope the business goes great. Fair play to you for doing this in these times of recession. If you keep the quality and service going you'll thrive. ATB, Cheers, D. ps. Keep the faith, (in all things)
  2. Not sure if he's gone from her eTBH but he posted on HU earlier this week. Cheers, D.
  3. No pick as I havent seen either run ,but good luck to both guys and dogs .A special hats off to those who made this happen despite a lot of sniping and back biting I think they deserve a round of applause ,and I dont know them , so I have no agenda, I voted for Tommo as I have been out with him and he is a real genuine guy, but the other competitors are strangers to me. HATS OFF to the way they have conducted themselves ,hopefully this competition will continue next year. Inan, probably the best post by an "outsider" on this topic. Cheers, D.
  4. Cammo Man, love you but your a disillusioned Turfite! "and its no nay never, no nay never no more, will we play Burnley b*st£rds, no never, no more. Nothing personal, only tribal. Cheers, D.
  5. Well done LDR commiserations to L and B. Cheers, D.
  6. Yes mate, nipped out the back of home for a quick hour at 9pm. Still and fairly light but ran 5 got 4 so pretty chuffed! Cheers, D
  7. Sky Plussed it, will watch when I've got a free hour. Think Mackem maybe got binned at the last clear out. Not sure though but he's on HU. cheers, D.
  8. They'll give you £5 million pound of public liability insurance if you out with your lurchers if shit happens! Cheers, D.
  9. You cant expect a lurcher to run for 3-4 hours on an empty stomach, this would help burn the dog out, muscle cramps etc, most tips on here seem sensible, feed early in the day a medium feed, then light walk to empty, couple of hours before you go a small portion, ie; handful of feed or couple of eggs with suggary milk, when lamping always take some electrylte fluid for a drink halfway through. A mini mars bar can help. We all use what suits but it is good to see what others do. Fair comment mate but DON'T feed chocolate to your dogs! It contains a chemical called THEOBROMINE which is
  10. Hi SS, sent money this AM. via registered post. Lady in Post Office says that registerd post (£1.08) doesn't cover cash, only recorded delivery (£4.70) does so we may as well take a chance without either in future! Used the rabbit carrier tonight for the first time. When even number of rabs, accross both shoulders, when odd number on it, over one shoulder helps the balance if that makes any sense. All good though, cheers. D.
  11. If I'm going out (like tonight) I usually give the dogs some meat, brown bread and gravy for breakfast at about 9/10 o'clock. Take them out as normal in the afters for an hour or two then give them half of their food at about 5 o'clock then go out at any time from 8.30pm onwards and feed the other half when we get back. Cheers, D.
  12. Have been asked mate, but to be honest they're not my thing, I wouldn't make anything I wasn't happy using myself, I like to keep things simple (it suits me!) and these slips here are pretty much foolproof so I'll stick to making these. All the best A Hello mate, how much for 3 wide ones, posted? Cheers, D. Hello Mister! It's as easy for me to make them out of 1.5" wide as it is 1" wide, but check they'll slide through the ring on your collars first, think you got collars off me? Are they 1.5" wide or 2" wide? Either way, they are the same price, £5 for 2 or Â
  13. Nice one mate, I thought there would be more advice from others than this though. Cheers John Carrots, swedes, cabbage, anything green they will eat. Will not do them any harm at all and helps their bowel movements to become more regular so you can time feeding with emptying times. JMHO. Cheers, D.

  16. Have a look at General All Terains AT2's and also have a look at the Kuhmo range bb Got some Hancook budget tyres for my X-Trail, they're OK for road use and with the trailer and quad but not brilliant off-road but cheap at 65 a corner. Cheers, D.

    Auction

Struggling trying to post in Auction House section, has the auction gone? If not, here's two traps to add to it. Postage is about 6 quid to the UK so add a fiver to the auction bid price and I'll pay postage. Cheers, D. traps.bmp

  22. My first time out with hounds was with The Blencathra in 1980 under the late, great Johnny Richardson when Barry Todhunter was then Whip. The best pack IMHO. Cheers, D.
  23. I saw that mate, you arn'te one of the boys from Rhymney area are you? Cheers, D.
  24. hiya tony, ref ferret washing, plain warm but not hot water usually does the trick, but if you've got a real mucky one mild kitten shampoo does the trick! my ferrets don't like the washing but enjoy being dryed off after! Dave, Birmingham. I'd never recomend using any sort of shampoo etc on a fert but they don't mind the water. I use a garden mist spray on mine in the Summer when it's hot, not for cleaning just for cooling and they love it. Cheers, D.
  25. Nobody on here is gonna give you any of their permission. If you put a few friendly posts up, you MAY possibly get an invite from someone local but the best way to get hunting ground is to get yourself out, dressed appropriately and politely knock on a few farmers doors. It's also a good idea to have Public Liability Insurance and a good knowledge of your sport. The first you can get from several places from about £25. The second you can get from several places but you can't buy it. HTH. Cheers, D.
