  4. ok the parks called newquay holiday park. its near to perth beach (thats the nearest beach to the park) but we will be willing to travel a few miles to get the best fishing/skipper/price. we fish there from our boat most weeks and theres several going out of Port Isaac as well. ok thanks. would the best bet be to ask in tackle shop? There will be loads of info on the holiday park. There's several coarse lakes around you as well but for sea, try these. Fish Newquay 01637 859596 wayne@fishnewquay.co.uk. 10. Well done mate, I bought my s/h Yeoman for £100 back in '79. Spent 36 quid to have the barrels re-blued a couple of years later. Still got the gun, it's a great, workmanlike piece of kit. Cheers, D.
  11. First light mate, the sooner your out, the sooner your home, and any lay ups or probs. etc you've got the rest of the day to sort it. HTH. Cheers, D.
  12. I always used to use chocolate, Maltesers being my best catchers but on the advice of Moletrapper, bird table fat balls are the biz. 100% catch rate since switching (only 3/3) In catch alive traps but confident of several more. Cheers, D.
  13. THANKS mate, for the info. Youve done the graft. Go a stage further, and start making and selling them. I'll have one. Cheers, D.
  14. I use the local ferret rescue whenever I can if I need a ferret and recommend it to all I can. For a minimum tenner donation you get a vet checked, speyed/castrated ferret in top condition. 3 of my 4 came from there and they are all good workers, one is my best ever in over 30 years of ferreting. It costs about 10 to 20 quid a year to have a jill jabbed to take her out of season. Get a rescue fert, no probs. Have a complete jill/hob IF you want to breed your working lines. Give your fert kits away to good homes, whether pets or workers and don't breed unless you need to! Cheers, D.
  15. Now that's a dog! Nice one PT. Top looking animal. Cheers, D.
  16. Is that Bi/Mon Ocular or scope?
  17. I usually freeze my rabs for at least 10 days before defrosting them (fully) before I feed them to the ferts. The freezing process kills any germs, bugs etc they might have which could be passed on to the ferts. However, when they hunt in the wild, they will catch fresh, guts in, and all quarry so it's a bit of a toss up. Do your best! HTH. Cheers, D.
  18. Sometimes use the NV spotting scope when lamping but it needs to be realllllly dark to get an advantage. Better on a gun set up with a NV scope. Really effective then. Cheers, D.
  19. had to rehome my old whippet her hunting days were over i know how you feel hang in there atb neil If she's got a permanent good home for the rest of her life, you couldn't have done any more for her mate. Chin up! Cheers, D.

    Feel

Missus watches every day, I hate the C**t!
  21. I have a mist spray bottle (a quid or 2 from your local garden centre) filled with cold water. When it's hot I give the ferts a spray with it. They love it! and do the ferret boogie! Cheers, D.
  22. Exactly. Give them respect. Stretch 'em, chop 'em or chin 'em. Any way do it quick and properly and minimise their suffering. We are hunters, respect your quarry. Cheers, D.
  23. Find a local trout fishery and give them a ring. Tell them your circumstances and in most cases they will give you a load of help. Information on licensing, tackle and tactics. They'll lend you some kit and advise you on what to buy. Your local fishing club will also do the same if your into coarse fishing. HTH. Cheers, D.
  24. Me too mate! This is the bloke who was asking about shotguns, the easiest fiearm to use successfully! Cheers, D.
