  2. Hahahahaha.....hahhahaha......he is having that one! Lol The coursing book is cock on, now I don't think I could sit and read a history type coursing book as I just don't have that type of interest in it BUT the format of this book is brilliant. It's done in interview format which makes for a more interesting read I think, there are certainly some very tidy looking dogs in there and the pictures ( both new and old) are cracking.......I have ordered another as I don't think these will hang around long. Well done to all the contributors for making something like this possible and wel
  3. HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET but, surely there can be a Paypal account set up whereby all the money raised goes into one pot? When the auction starts, let it run for a week (or 2, 3 or a month) winning bidders pay the price and the owner of the item sends it once they receive confirmation that the funds are in the account? I've got some metal traps to donate and I'll happily pay the postage. Cheers, D.
  4. Coming on a treat Ray How big and how heavy? Cheers, D.
  5. First of all, you've got to know when a dog is fit, secondly, you've got to know when enough is enough, either work or conditioning wise IMO Cheers, D.
  6. It doesn't do the rider any harm either when your approaching the season. Cheers, D.
  7. Get some better ones? Yeah, I suppose so, they're pretty poor Cheers, D.
  8. yes mate the light brindle third from last i like the one underneath that but hard to tell if you carnt see them in the flesh alb with your pup mate ive got the sire, the grand sire and the grand dam here already No kennel blindness then Cheers, D.
  9. When I'm running mine by the bike it's usually early doors, ie 6 or 7 in the morning (July/August) and there's usually someting around the bridle path for them to sprint after somewhere along the way, usually pheasants, rabbit or squirrels. Other wise I go about 8 mph on a 10 miler or 10 -12 mph on a 5 miler. Dogs love it and TBH after a week or so of that (2/3 times a week) it doesn't phase them at all, I could lamp them at night after a 5 miler I reckon but I don't get 100 runs a night like some people Cheers, D.
  10. Where abouts? i'll ring around if it's Mid/North Cornwall. Cheers, D.
  11. No problem. When I'm fittening them up for the start of the season, I start at 5 miles and work up to usually 10 or 12 but I have done a 25 miler lots of times. (Pub lunch half way through LOL). Cheers, D.

  13. Shell suits now thats the gear of real hunting men of the 's/90's I remember hunting in flared jeans Cheers, D.
  14. Only if it's a handy place. Who's going to be able to carry all the gear needed if it's not easy? By the time you get down, not only will you fecked, the dog might be as well. If you've got a quad etc it's a bit easier but feck carrying shovels, bar, net bag, gun, etc and taking terriers on your own. Been there, done that, have had to ring mates up to come and give me a hand when it turned out not be the three or four footer it had been in the past Cheers, D.
  15. I 've walked hundreds and hundreds of miles all around the lakes. From Youth Hostelling and Scouts in the 60's and early 70's to hunting withe the Fell Packs in the late 70's to mid 's and holidaying and poaching in the late 's early 90's When the weather is good, it's Heaven. When the weather is bad, it's Hell. Love the place Cheers, D.
  16. A few families came to our town in the early sixties. Worked with loads of Indians and Pakistanis. Used to play cricket and football against them at lunch time and it was always "English against Pakis" None were offended, the term "Stanis" was the one they didn't like Some of them were really sound. My car had broke down and I needed to go about 30 miles journey to pay for a three piece suite so borrowed a car off one of the Indians in the mill where I worked. Felt really good driving a Mark 2 Cortina 1600E painted Starsky and Hutch red and white and with loads of tinsel on the das
