  1. Got him a card and everything Cheers, D.
  2. thats why god gave you 2 hands with 5 digits on each ffs Depends where you live I couldn't have mine off the lead when lamping or I'd have 2 dogs on every rabbit. Even if I only had one dog out, I could only stop them from chasing by shouting, which is not something beneficial to lamping. Daytime I let them both off together when I'm mooching but lead them up if I know there's potential "accidents" around. Cheers, D.
  3. Stig, if you've fixed your van, instead of fecking about on the boxing thread, get the names and addresses of the winning bidders PM'd out so we can send the goods off Cheers, D.
  4. Sorry, but I'm gonna counterclaim for the damage to my Xtrail so your ma better have Public Liability Insurance. Cheers, D.
  5. No ones said every full timer is better than every weekender, but IMO and its only that, is that if someone's doing a job, what ever that may be, on a full time basis, they will become experienced a lot quicker than someone who only does it when spare time allows, and the way I see it is knowledge grows from experiences. Would you not agree that if you took 50 full timers and compared them to 50 spare timers that the former would have on average more experience and what ever else comes with that?? Without wanting to play Devil's Advocate., it's all about percentages. I wouldn't ima
  6. Went to a farm a couple of miles away last night. White dog took a really horrendous tumble early on and he couldn't run right afterwards so I just used the bitch. I usually alternate their runs to conserve energy etc but she had it all to do last night and as a consequence, she had a little too much so I finished at 19 to get some electolytes into her. (Hence no gate shot TOMO) Better safe than sorry IMO, for the sake of an extra run or two. Both dogs very subdued today but no obvious injuries to the white dog so I think its a case of rest till the moons down again.
  7. Don't need to tell me, I'm on my second, done 70 odd thousand miles in them, one or two off road Cheers, D.
  8. Great stuff, lets hope the injury is a thing of the past Cheers, D.
  9. There ain't a section for curs/heinz 57's so this will have to do matey Let me know if they start one, I'll be have one in there Cheers, D.
  10. As above. Sorry they are worse than my usual efforts but I was in the car at the time Cheers, D.
  11. So theres a proper Preston and a jock imitation, trust the jocks, always pinched everything from their fairer and better looking cousins. There's a Blackburn up there as well that they copied. Subo comes from there Cheers, D.
  12. Cheers guys, white dog is a C/G x Cur X. Have asked the farmer to tidy the gate up a bit for next time it could do with a coat of Hammerite. Cheers, D.
  13. Worked on a farm during the school holidays, (I was about 12 years old). Saw a few collies etc catching rats in and around the barns. We had a Cairn cross Corgi dog at home that looked like today "pet " Russells. Took him to the farm and moved some bales, dog chased and caught a few and I was hooked. Cheers, D.
  14. Levs, the Pennine lost a lot of there ground after the ban as they did a lot of Water Board land etc. They now hunt mostly through invites all around the country. Cheers, D. PS. They are are usually down here first week or so in October.
  15. As the title says, not the most productive night Stood about waiting for gusts to clear the fog, quick 5 minutes walking, a run if I was lucky then back being blind again Two and a half hours for about 10 runs Shouldn't complain, when I lived up North, I sometimes struggled to get 10 runs in 2 weeks Cheers, D.
  16. IMO, a more sensible solution would be to contact the Fell and Moorland Working terrier Club and find out who your local rep is. Have a chat with him and find out when and where they hold their meetings and go along to one. Listen and learn and hopefully you'll get an invite off one of the members. There is, or was, a lot of good terrier lads in Lancashire but like anywhere else, I expect there's several clowns, so don't jump in with both feet. HTH. Cheers, D.
  17. I'd never have thought that of TOMO Cheers, D.
  18. You got a pal thats a terrier? thumbs: Your quick off the mark there Cheers, D.
  19. Its like that down here with the fecking seagulls. Cheers, D.
  20. Met DLT at Hayling Island when he had a big feck off sign written powerboat. This would be about 1970 or so and I would be about 12. He never touched me though. Pity, I could be getting some cash off The Sun now Cheers, D.
