The start of me new ferret hutch
Furrosious ferreter replied to matt the lamper's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Thats what ive got at the moment... I mean so the tray (high sided) slides in through a gap the length of the hutch so you pull it out to empty the whole lot. Like the dog and it looks like the rabbits still alive FF -
The start of me new ferret hutch
Furrosious ferreter replied to matt the lamper's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Im thinking of making a new hutch for the end of the court... But i think that using plastic trays as the bottom so i can just pull them out to empty into the wheel barrow would save time when cleaning out. FF -

After finishing the stock for the hw97k and fitting the action back in... I went out this morning to check zero. After adjustments were made i went for a wonder getting abit late in the morning and getting warm, i decided to sit under an old oak tree for a little feet up time. I hadnt seen a rabbit, then one popped her head out from the fence line a quick side focus adjustment to 35 meters 1.50 mildots of hold over and a thud in the shoulder saw one into the bag. The rifles unadjustable cheek comb set perfectly for me has made a massive difference to the gun, now its

Is it me or does a thumbhole stock make you feel like you have a more confident hold over the rifle? Nice shooting and love seeing a dog retrieve. FF -

Cheek riser???
Furrosious ferreter replied to Furrosious ferreter's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
The engraving/stipling was done with a 6 inch nail ground to a point and one ground like a chisel and my initials put into it. Then lightly sanded... suprisingly grippy. (I think i put a post up before) I put the stock extension on because i felt the length of trigger pull wasnt correct and after it felt alot better. Thanks for offering to send some alloy rods down. How would you have fitted them? The idea was to make it personal to me which ive done for sure, plus one of the kids has the same initials. So its his when ive snuffed it. FF -

Furrosious ferreter replied to Furrosious ferreter's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
To be fair i did think of alloy rods but i had no means of getting them. Its strong 16mm dowell I have no money. And i thought the all wood would look nice. I can always paint them silver! FF -

Has any body attemped to make one themselves? Ive got a hw97 sitting in a hw77 stock designed for iron sights use. So eye to scope alignment is not the best. I plan to raise the cheek rest by about an inch. Im not going to make it adjustable im just going to use dowells cut to the correct length. I think... To be continued... FF
