    Ha it's a Benjamin Trail NP2 in .22. Spent less than $250US on it new. Maybe my next step up will be one of those fancy long range kits with the scuba tanks.Those airforce texans you have in america look pretty serious. Video on youtube s guy firing 350 grain pellets and they are going out through 3/4" plywood at 400 yards.Bit strong for pigeon lol.

    Local farmer got in touch while he was mowing grass to say two fox's were on the field as he worked it! That was yesterday and last night a cub right on dark busted me! I returned tonight and found a large vixen on the field near dark. Miraculously it came towards me and at about forty yards put one across its ribs. A quick dash and over she went. She was in good nick apart from a stinky open wound on top of her nose! The night before returning home I let jess run the rabbits in the dark and she got one ? U.

    The staff usually are gone early by afternoon so any time from then.I have a nice spot to sit and watch. The rabbits usually let me know one is coming. U.

    Hmmm, the act as it is written is clear on what is considered illegal.By ommitting a method that meets certain criteria how can it be automatically illegal? For instance, archery equipment is not allowed to be used for hunting but how the law is worded catapults are not mentioned so not illegal. Not mentioned as a legal means also by the way !. U.

    Taking it further then. One could shoot a deer under the conditions set out for the use of smoothbore and deer with a muzzleloader and ball or slug. No? U.

    This is the thing and how I ponder it. I can not buy loaded ammunition of a single projectile or less than five shot unless I have a licence to do so. As assembled cartridges. But. I do not need a licence to buy; 1, rifled slugs. 2,ball. As I won't be assembling any slugs or ball into loaded ammunition I am not breaking any laws and as a muzzleloader does not use ammunition as set out in law I would not be outside of any law if I shot them out of a muzzleloader as there is no distinction of a muzzleloader smoothbore and the use of single projectiles. No?

    Thanks I appreciate your kind assistance. I see the above as an indication that a muzzleloader shot gun by its nature of not using ammunition and there not being any restrictions on the possession of balls and no restrictions of taking game or vermin with lead ball that a muzzleloader can indeed of smoothbore shoot a single ball. No yes? Thoughts any one?

    Yes but a muzzleloader does not use ammunition,loaded ammunition. So that legislation does not apply!

    Thanks it finally worked. It does not seem to refer to cartridges at all. So I can use a 22 shot shell or a 9mm. Makes sense as no alternative is available. It's a shame a clause was not provided for muzzle-loaders ?. How about ball from a smoothbore muzzle-loaders? Any clarity on that? U.

    Dont forget the cheaper still cr600w. The co2 version of the above. A little less power and no gauge but for the OP original request maybe just the ticket! My cp-1 pistol is easily up to the task of despatching trapped squirrel too. This one was up a tree.

    If you mean the smk mate they are about £200. Light, come with a magazine and single shot tray (not needed), built in silencer but small and open sights.50+ shots and a gauge. Dead easy to work on and tune the trigger. U.
