Offer help also at the hardest times (lambing/harvest etc) time is worth more than money and pays for something cash cannot buy you can bet your bottom dollar that you'd get the shit,hardest jobs.much easier to agree a price,pay it and do what you have to do without interference from each other.treat it like business not favours not to mention having to spend hours and hours of your time doing stuff with him.

I believe that Socks' military experience was at the elite end of the armed forces. If so, I'm prepared to wager that he's run much further than 10,000m with a Bergen on his back ! was he the one dangling from a rope by his foot at the iranian embassy.? only joking socks i have alot of respect for all our forces really.

i think the main active ingredient in insect repellent was DEET but they now think it does more harm to humans so stopped using it.

i had it with a jill once.called her and she never came which was odd,went into the sleeping box and she looked dead.she was perfectly healthy earlier so picked her up and she was dead,laid her on a cold wall still dead.went to get a shovel came back and she was perfectly healthy again. since found out it's quite common.don't know what causes it and i've not had it since.

for those that are not intrested just be gratefull i don't know how to post photos. the pup had his 1st kill earlier.a wood pigeon.no hesitation just piled in.i know it was only a pigeon but it the 1st live animal he seen apart from stock. the retrieve wasn't what we've been practising.i think it was the soft downey feathers that she never liked.although she does retrieve pheasants. at least he plucked it 90%.

i just had alook on pet4homes at the staffies.poor imitation of the one i used to see about in the 80's.just fat barrels and they don't even look that intimidating. i don't see many athletic one about much which is a shame because they were iconic english breed.
