Nice shooting David. I used to love real blustery conditions when years ago I did a lot of wildfowling, by hell ducks can fly fast downwind. Phil

I can really understand where you are coming from but the bottom line is the costs involved with the super units you use, I would love one but I just can't afford one at the moment. I was doing a bit of practice with my set up using the Trigger Grip tripod the other night in the garden which works very well but my god it will take some getting used to in the field that is for sure. Long term I want a Pulsar or X-Site or similar but the pension only goes so far, I will be glad when the state pension kicks in, a bit more cash in my pockets then. Phil

Wow, they are a lot bigger than I thought.

The severe wind has died down today so I will be having a practice session tonight in the garden on some targets before doing anything else. Phil

I agree on reflection, getting rid of the RM8 was a good decision. Phil

There are people out there who love the RM8 and there are quite a few who can't wait to get rid of them. One of the main issues is power drop off, mine was putting out 11.4fp which after about 2500 pellets started to fall quite quickly. I spoke to the importers who said...........it was the air, not full...........pellet type...............my imagination.........faulty chrono. In other words, any excuse but not the gun. When I advised them that a number of other people on the forum were having similar issues, they said that is the problem with forums, talk rubbish My gun dropped down to 9.5

This hobby/sport/way of life, is like many others, a costly one to start off with. No surprise there, being a clay shooter, I know how to spend dosh on gear so this year, my first year back into this side of shooting has been a steep learning curve but nevertheless I believe after making a mistake buying the Rotex RM8, I am now on the right path.........I hope. I finish the year with most of the kit I wanted/needed now being bought HW 100 KT .177 ( Mac's choice of weapon ) Hawk Varmint 4-16 x 44 AO scope 4lt air cylinder & connector Visionking range finder Buffal

I had decided to get an NV system and because of cost, it would need to be a home build. The bottom line is that I just didn't want to build one and found one on ebay that has already been bought by a few guys on another forum with nothing but glowing reports so I coughed up £200 and it arrived yesterday. I have only had the chance to play around in the garden but to be honest it seems spot on. All the batteries are housed in the camera box so nice and neat. The charger plugs directly into the camera box so no battery removal and has short circuit protection for charging. The came

quote ( Good luck with your choice Phil.) My choice was made Mark, it was the HW. Phil

I can only agree with you...........end of. Phil

I have never owned an R10 but before buying the HW 100 KT (which Mac loves) I looked closely at the R10 and for me, the HW has a better magazine, easy and quick to load plus a spare with 14 shots to boot. The other thing I preferred was the side lever, very comfortable and quicker to use. It just did not feel right with the R10 bolt at the back of the action. These are just my observations and we all like different things in a gun plus the fact that both guns sell in large quantity so that speaks for itself. I am very happy with the HW although the higher shot count of the R10 certainly ap

A great many people swear by them as they can be tuned to the hilt so making a good rifle a really great rifle. I am thinking of the Ultra .22 regged with a bigger cylinder for ratting, they just feel great. Phil

Airgun World Spot The Difference.

Oh no it isn't, oh yes it is....................oh what was the question, I got into panto mood then. I will enter the odd competition but always find the changes and mark them in the mags but don't send them in unless the prize appeals then get hacked off that I didn't win............................and round and round we go. Phil -
Yes, had it on order but when I got to the RFD just didn't like it as much as I thought I would and so I walked out with an HW100KT lam stock. Still not kicked it into touch however because you never say never. Phil
-
Yes you are right Chris, it is the Ultra, my mistake. No reg as you say just cosmetics and a price tag of about £800. I think someone said they were being offered to R10 limited edition owners first, or something like that. Phil
-
This is the limited edition BSA Scorpion I think that they have made to go along side the R10 pepper stock. Very expensive from what I recall..................for a Scorpion. Phil

The advert in this months magazine says available now, must admit I do like very much like the look of these and unlike their other semi bullpups, these have about 100 shots per charge. Phil

Sorry guys, I should explain. I got some info from another forum which I have passed on to Mac and David, the only reason for not posting on open forum was that the writer who did it for another forum may take offence with his work being posted on here along with copyright being used without permission. That is the only reason and I have witnessed a similar situation on a completely different hobby forum which turned nasty. No secrets I promise. I will pm anyone who is thinking of doing what Mac and I are pondering about. Phil
