Went To Look At A Compatto And Came Out With This!
philpot replied to si brown's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I supose without trying or wanting to, you quite naturally compare the 110 to a 100 by virtue of the fact that they are both Weihrauch and look very much the same. I guess fans of AA guns will feel the same comparisons with how to cock the new Galahad bull pup. As you say Si, it is just different to how things are on the 100. It makes you wonder why Weihrauch would want to change such a successful mag system as the 100. Really interested to see how things develop Phil -
Yes before I gave up smoking, Rez, not that ugly though mate. I'm a photographer Fartist Phil, smart phone and camera phone users have killed my trade and are taking food of my table. Oh well I was a graphics photographer in the printing industry then a tech specialist for the Konica Corporation on their graphic arts film products travelling all over Europe, Japan and USA......................ah those were the days when I earned a load of dosh for my knowledge but sadly PC's put an end to that, glad to be retired now and out of it. Phil

I agree, the trigger sticks really suit the TX and I'm off to the range this afternoon to see how I go on. If I can get a good group at 25mt, I will be tempted to take it on the perm and set up some more targets there at longer ranges......................................practice practice practice. Phil

Nice going Mitch on both the bag and the outlet for them. Phil

One guy I spoke to on another forum used his for when he is in no hide just a leaf suit under a tree, minimal movement on the bunnies which when you think about it makes sense. I suppose it depends on the weight of the rifle as to how steady it is to just sit on the unit so Mark, you will have to advise on that one. Phil

Brilliant. The original film is fantastic as well.

You have too much time on your hands. Don't you just love photoshop though. Phil

F,a,o Phil Pot / Just Need To Do The Rifle Now

True Mitch but at least if I miss the rabbits will be heard saying, 'WHERE THE FECK DID THAT COME FROM' Phil -
You can only take it that it is not an issue because they are selling like hot cakes, certainly with the 3 RFD's that I have spoken to and following Si Pittaway who swears it is a tack driver so who knows. Phil

Looks good Jimmy, I will do the same tomorrow and give you a laugh. Phil -
It's not a dud Rez, I was having a play with one in the shop last week and I totally agree with Si, there is quite a bit of movement at the forend. He has sold around 25 now with glowing reports back from the punters and one faulty one which was exchanged straight away. They are lighter but do not have the feel of the R10. I really want to like it but just don't somehow as I thought it would make a good ratter but can't see me getting one to be honest. Phil

Gave The New Primos A Whirl Down The Garden.

To be completely honest Si, until I can put up a half decent group, I don't think it is worth bothering about pellet tests because I am not good enough yet. I tried some FAP today which looked quite good but with only a 15mt garden, it is not really not long enough to draw any conclusions. I am popping over to the RFD tomorrow who has a 25mt range so I may have a better idea then. I read that a springer should perform better with a light pellet than anything else but don't know if that is true. I have about 10 tins of different pellet types to play with but thought I would wait until after I -
I was going to buy the Prosport but when I picked up the rifle I found it heavy, then picked up the TX200HC next to it, no contest, the TX won in terms of weight between my hands. I do wish however I had tried the prosport on the range but my purchase was made and I am happy with the decision. Phil

I had a go with one at the shooting show and was very impressed, if it was a shotgun, I would have described it as fast handling and the balance suited me too Si with a touch of butt heavy but only a touch. I too will be very interested how you get on and what shot count you get from it. Phil -
He will die an old man in my garden along with me. Phil

My envy of your groups is not fading very much Matt but I confess to an improvement in my groups using the trigger sticks with my TX but alas not in the same league as you yet, I will however master this bloody springer if it kills me Phil -
Ohhh my god David, I never twigged, what a dick.................... Quite funny, that metal 'duck' or whatever it is has the attention of the pheasant quite often giving it a peck on his way past. I am just laughing to myself here David, there's no fool like an old fool mate. Phil
-
I tell you what David, this little chap gets through quite a bit of seed, I put out about 1.5 pints of bird food a day, good job I buy it in 25kg sacks but it is worth it. Phil

I am very pleased to see the return of our local pheasant who has not been around since we went on holiday, he is just a nice sight in the garden. And before anyone says he will make a nice meal, I have two females who would shoot me if I even suggested him for the pot and to be honest, I like to see him strutting around. Photo's taken from inside the house so not too sharp through the window. Phil

I may have put up the wrong link because someone in UK is selling them. The guys who have bought them, swear by them being good kit but I have no knowledge myself. I went to look at the Viper at the shooting show and saw the add on NV range finder but the price....................................a piece of kit looking so similar can be bought on ebay for about a third of the price. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scope-Mountable-Laser-range-Finder-Works-with-Night-Vision-Shock-Waterproof-/111973019631?hash=item1a121cafef:g:mQUAAOSwKfVXGUsP From the feedback on another forum, it appears that it is

I will be very interested in your findings Mark because I have good and not so good things about them. I actually looked for them at the shooting show but I didn't see any. Phil

I like the leaf strip to go on the net, that looks really good, I have just ordered some. I have net veil and gloves but not with leafy bits on although the green veil doesn't look very natural, a bit too green I think. Phil
-
Thanks Si I put the link for the NV range finder really for Jonjon as I thought it might be of interest if he thought that was an issue, as for me, I have little experience and may get one as time goes by if my little pension provider lets me. I really want a .22 so that is higher on my wish list. Phil
