  1. Which model Rapid is on the left Phil
  2. I know AA are made by JSB Mitch but is there any difference at all between AA and JSB Express in .177 Phil
  3. Not a sound came from the North Lincolnshire coast......................................................................................... Phil
  4. I bought what I can only describe as a short zipped pencil case which takes 3 mags and keeps any dirt away from the mag so ideal for using a touch of spray oil AND keep ing them clean and whats better, it cost £2.50 from a shop called 'The Range', you may have one in your area. If you want one Mac, let me know and i will get you one next week. Phil
  5. As it happens, I was flicking through the pages of Air Gunner, not a mag I normally take but one I bought on holiday as there was a review in there of the 110 and whilst I think we all take some of these reviews with a pinch of salt, the editor states he got 120 shots through a .177whilst the gauge was still just in the green sector, with 14fps across the whole string. If that is to be believed, then that guy having a shot count of 40 doesn't seem to be in keeping with other statements made in the press. I cannot see in any way this new gun is going to have a performance like that. Come on
  6. Ooohhhh that is bloody good Mark. I don't think I needed to put up my post of a few minutes ago, JSB Heavies. Phil
  7. A friend of mine sent about 50 of these pellets for me to try, comparing against Bisley Mags in the HW100. Now after I had been to the range today, I had about 20 pellets left so 10 mins ago, I popped into the garden and shot them in the TX. Okay they shot about one mildot lower than FAP but apart from some fliers which was me, they grouped well ( grouped well for me bearing in mind I am still on a learning curve with this gun). Has anyone else used them in a TX and how did you find them/or still using them. Are springers in general better with lighter pellets or does it make any differenc
  8. Now that I agree Si, not the twat bit but if you say so mate but loading the TX although I'm getting better. Phil
  9. My RFD had two in, the .177 has gone so had a play with the .22 and must agree Mitch, I found loading the mag quite easy. Not sure how much lighter the rifle is but deffo lighter. From what I can see, it looks like the full HW air cylinder with a revised position carbine barrel so a better shot count. The RFD wouldn't let me shoot it in the range but when I go back in Mon/Tue as my wife is looking for a little gun, I will push it to get some pellets through if he will pop a scope on for me........................well I'm hoping so. Phil
  10. That was a cracking deal Mac. I really fancy that scope, never actually looked through one but like the idea of it. Phil
  11. Life can be a bitch at times can't it Phil
  12. 12lt bottle, you must have 3 shredded wheat each morning to lug that around. What gun did you get or have I missed that somewhere. Phil
  13. Cheers lads, I just thought that if they're both similar lengths sticking a mod on the end of the TX is so obviously going to add a few inches If you was to put a moderator on a TX,you will have to remove the plenum insert first, pretty easy to with a 5p coin.unscrew anti clockwise. Added to that, you also need an adapter to marry the internal thread of the barrel to the mod depending what mod you used. I used a stumpy to keep the weight down. Phil
  14. Ihave the MTC Genesis which is much finer than my Hawke Varmint but with the IR it makes this scope very usable Si and to be honest, I think the red centre is so good, I would not want to be without it now. Phil
  15. I don't have this but a bit of lateral thinking here but something I do fancy. BSA Ultra or Scorpion tuned and modified by Airtech MTC Viper Connect 4lt air tank and whip trigger stick tripod (that I do have) Phil
  16. Is he giving you the gun Si or are you doing him a favour sorting it out. Externally, it looks in good condition. I remember coverting one of these that my pal had. We had permission to shoot rats on a potato dump on a big farm estate and recall so very clearly at the age of about 14 sitting with my BSA Meteor glancing with such envy at John's gleaming new Airsporter but never had one. Often wished he fall off his bike on the way back and not want to shoot anymore so he would give it to me, strange thoughts pass through a kid's head. I wont talk about the other thoughts I had however.
  17. Judging by the forecast, tomorrow looks more of the same, Oh dear me..................
  18. It is now 11 days since the peas were drilled and I have been up to check every day for pigeon activity, nothing up until last night. A few birds were floating around so this morning I went up for a session over decoys, the wind was so strong in was just untrue mixed in with showers, what a good start. I sat in the car for about an hour but no drop in the wind at all, then the rain came down good style. Aborted mission. I have just been back up, just 6 birds walking the field with no other bird movement so back home for a coffee. Depending on the weather tomorrow, I will try again but
  19. I should say that the only reason I popped a mod on my TX was that any sound reduction is a benefit as I have 6 horses the other side of my garden wall who are used to me shooting in the garden and they can be a bit twitchy at times, touch wood, they have not become too concerned with the noise from the TX. Phil
  20. Might be worth saying what you are going to be shooting which might give the guys a better idea what to suggest, such as hunting generally, ratting in a farmyard, range work etc. Phil
  21. Great shooting matey, that sounds like SOME perm you have there and a good use of the rabbits afterwards. Phil
  22. Where abouts mate ? That's 5 mins from my house click on the link i put on my earlier post as it has all the info you will need. Phil
  23. I have a mod fitted to my TX, does it make a difference, yes it does on the indoor range but not a huge amount outside. Is it worth an extra 50 notes, hmmm not sure to be honest, let me put it this way, if I bought another springer, would I fit a mod straight off.............no. Phil
  24. The actual weights may vary dependent on the density of the wood in the stock. But in reality both rifles are so close in weight that it would not matter. Certainly not enough to warrant discounting one or the other IMO. However, they have a different point of balance and so the shooter might think that one or the other is heavier when in fact it is the balance not the weight that gives that effect. On power; they are virtually the same rifle. So given that both have the same spring, cylinder, etc it would be a pretty good trick for Air Arms to de-tune the Pro Sport and not the TX using t
  25. Okay Nicepix, I accept your point on weight but please also accept my point taken from my leaflet and AA website under 'downloads' so it seems that they are not so certain me thinks. This photo is from my leaflet as I cannot seem to be able to copy the online brochure but here is the link, page 33 http://www.air-arms.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/AA-Brochure-ISS-7-High-Res.pdf At the end of the day both rifles are superb and in some ways I wish I had bought the Prosport but quite simply on the day the TX200HC felt better for me and that is what I made my decision on along with the dir
