I have been carefully watching the activity from the pigeon, well I would if any turned up but I gave it a couple of hours but apart from the odd crow well out of range, nothing to be seen. A change of plan was called for so I went round to the warren pasture where there is a deep valley lined with trees which had quite a number of mixed corvids resting in the trees. I put up around 20 or 30 crows as I worked my way round the track. The sun was now taking the temperature way up and I assume the crows were simply staying out of the heat. Once settled under a large tree giving me some sh

Tweaked The Tx A Little

I tried the pellet on the turret test, the super glue seemed to keep it in place very well.........that is about the only way it would stay on the turret. I did about a dozen shots, pellets all over the place so I think we can say it is not as smooth as it could be. Phl -
I will be interested to see the results Mark because I intend building two natural hides on my perm, one for the bunnies and one for crows/pigeon, so a few photo's may well be useful right now. Phil

I will get you those mate with pleasure. Is this where you say..............you should have bought a Prosport.....................I may come to that decision and if I really get into the springer...............I may NEED to buy one at some stage. Need a .22 first though. Phil -

You can be a judge on mine then Jimmy when we meet to see if Sean can make it better although I'm not saying it is bad but I don't have anything to compare it with. I know there is a guy on another forum who does some wonderful things with TX and Prosport according to some feedback I had but it is difficult to know if my TX is as good as it gets. We will see Jimmy. Phil -
I think everyone check zero before a shooting session and make adjustment as required. I have often thought the movement in transit can cause a shift. Phil

So are we going to see a photo of the new hide yet Mark, I assume this is the one you showed a photo of...................or did not show a photo of in a previous post. Phil

They have a lot of fans on another forum and I have just tried some, seem spot on on a brief test with the pellets given to me. I am going to get some along with express and have both zero values on the scope. Certainly hit bloody hard Si. Phil

That Oil Trick On The Hw100 Mag Works A Treat
philpot replied to bigmac 97kt's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I bought what I can only describe as a short zipped pencil case which takes 3 mags and keeps any dirt away from the mag so ideal for using a touch of spray oil AND keep ing them clean and whats better, it cost £2.50 from a shop called 'The Range', you may have one in your area. If you want one Mac, let me know and i will get you one next week. Phil -
As it happens, I was flicking through the pages of Air Gunner, not a mag I normally take but one I bought on holiday as there was a review in there of the 110 and whilst I think we all take some of these reviews with a pinch of salt, the editor states he got 120 shots through a .177whilst the gauge was still just in the green sector, with 14fps across the whole string. If that is to be believed, then that guy having a shot count of 40 doesn't seem to be in keeping with other statements made in the press. I cannot see in any way this new gun is going to have a performance like that. Come on

They Are Ordered ! 5000 Express .177

Ooohhhh that is bloody good Mark. I don't think I needed to put up my post of a few minutes ago, JSB Heavies. Phil -
A friend of mine sent about 50 of these pellets for me to try, comparing against Bisley Mags in the HW100. Now after I had been to the range today, I had about 20 pellets left so 10 mins ago, I popped into the garden and shot them in the TX. Okay they shot about one mildot lower than FAP but apart from some fliers which was me, they grouped well ( grouped well for me bearing in mind I am still on a learning curve with this gun). Has anyone else used them in a TX and how did you find them/or still using them. Are springers in general better with lighter pellets or does it make any differenc
-
Now that I agree Si, not the twat bit but if you say so mate but loading the TX although I'm getting better. Phil
-
My RFD had two in, the .177 has gone so had a play with the .22 and must agree Mitch, I found loading the mag quite easy. Not sure how much lighter the rifle is but deffo lighter. From what I can see, it looks like the full HW air cylinder with a revised position carbine barrel so a better shot count. The RFD wouldn't let me shoot it in the range but when I go back in Mon/Tue as my wife is looking for a little gun, I will push it to get some pellets through if he will pop a scope on for me........................well I'm hoping so. Phil
-
That was a cracking deal Mac. I really fancy that scope, never actually looked through one but like the idea of it. Phil

12lt bottle, you must have 3 shredded wheat each morning to lug that around. What gun did you get or have I missed that somewhere. Phil

Cheers lads, I just thought that if they're both similar lengths sticking a mod on the end of the TX is so obviously going to add a few inches If you was to put a moderator on a TX,you will have to remove the plenum insert first, pretty easy to with a 5p coin.unscrew anti clockwise. Added to that, you also need an adapter to marry the internal thread of the barrel to the mod depending what mod you used. I used a stumpy to keep the weight down. Phil

Ihave the MTC Genesis which is much finer than my Hawke Varmint but with the IR it makes this scope very usable Si and to be honest, I think the red centre is so good, I would not want to be without it now. Phil
