  1. I had hold of one a few weeks ago, I though them to be quite heavy and just did not feel right but that is only my first impression. I read on another forum of some guys testing them at a shooting show and said despite the fact they were not so keen on the looks, they shot very well. Just seem very bulky compared to the Wildcat. Phil
  2. Airgun Shooter but as soon as the 12 month prepaid is over, I won't bother with any..........................what goes around comes around, again and again. Phil
  3. What they don't say is if you have to go back to the original zero setting or if it calculates from the last known setting. Phil
  4. Thanks Mitch, a very useful site now stored in my computer. Phil
  5. A lovely stock and no mistake, beautiful flowing lines, me likey lots. Phil
  6. Well never mind being out of practice, just go and enjoy, the HW will do it's job. Phil
  7. You are very lucky indeed to have both Jimmy and Sean as friends for help and advice along with the odd trip out hunting. Very few people have that so early in the sport if ever so something to be cherished mate. Phil
  8. I find the stance very comfortable using the trigger sticks Pesky, standing or sitting but never tried prone shooting with an add-on unit. Phil
  9. I bought a PCP after many years without an air rifle and started to learn how to shoot a rifle again. The springer came into play last year with a TX200 and the learning curve started again. There is no doubt in my mind as to the satisfaction felt when I shoot the springer but for hunting it is a PCP every time for me. I think had I bought a springer first, I might not have been so involved in airguns as I am now but the up side to that is that my bank account would be much healthier. Phil
  10. Some bloke does some nice kit including gear to make your own spotting scopes. Phil
  11. Okay Sean thanks. I will have to think about another holding method or try to get a nitesite bracket or copy one. Phil
  12. Never seen a torch included with this type of unit as people may already own a torch or want a different one to the one offered. I would borrow a torch and test it before returning the item but that is just me. Phil
  13. I agree Si, that is how I read it. I bought a similar unit on eBay which was a little more expensive but to be honest, very good. My son in law is using it at the moment as I bought a NiteSite which is much lighter and more controllable. You can buy a T20 torch cheap enough then you are in business. Phil
  14. Nelly, have a drive around to find a pig or dairy farm as they WILL have rats and feral pigeon giving the farmer aggravation so an offer to reduce the problem without poisons may well appeal to them. The farmer offered to pay me today for doing a good job, I didn't take anything but it keeps me well in with him. It really is a case of searching around until you find somewhere. You only need one chance to prove yourself and no matter what, you give it all you have to make a good impression. There is a saying. It is not what you know, it is who you know that counts. This has now
  15. I know a few people have bought an NV range finder to fit on scope / Photon / Nite Site and after seeing the price of the Nite Site offering, I am looking at some on ebay. Can anyone confirm if this is the one used, I want it for my Nite Site but not sure about fitting as yet so ideas on that would be welcome. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scope-mountable-hunting-laser-range-finder-brand-new-mk3-version-/142239686174?hash=item211e255e1e:g:nIEAAOSwZVlXvTvi If this is not the one used, please post a link so I can take a look. Phil
  16. I have some Snowbee breathables, a left over from my fly fishing which I no longer do but the waders still come in handy when the village floods...................... I had a quick hour at the perm again this afternoon with another 9 rats and a couple of ferals in the bag which pleased the farmer, who then brought his sister out of the house to meet me. Now she has a farm just a mile down the road and invited me to pop down to take a look around, couldn't see any rats but you can bet they are there at night but managed to drop a feral sat on top of the barn which pleased her no end as s
  17. Well Mike pleased to hear that our Graham at Crawford's took care of it for you. I am in there at least once a week so assume you are a local man, perhaps meet up with you some time. Phil Hi Phil . . . I live in Broughton . . . Graham's a Star . . . very likeable and great to deal with. . . I have bought 3 rifles from him in the past 2 years and will be popping in for another no doubt. Would be good to meet you. I don't usually shoot anywhere other than at work. I have been to Doncaster Airgun Range Hi Mike PM on it's way to you. Phil
  18. Cocked always. I really cannot see the point of not having the gun gun cocked ready to go but with the safety on. Phil
  19. Already got a couple of pairs David, I look like a beached whale in them. Phil
  20. I mixed up some rat bait and planted in a couple of spots this afternoon, at 6pm I went back to the dairy farm to find the rats had got stuck into my little bait mixture. I took the wildcat with me just in case there were any rats around but as I had really only popped there to check the bait so 11 rats in 35 mins tells me that I think this place is going to give me some fun, oh yes boys FUN, fcuking filthy though. Some of these rats are big buggers and take some stopping. I am loving this perm, I know it's a bit early to say that but sometimes things just feel right. Phil

  22. Glad the scope is working out Jimmy and you are very welcome mate. Phil
  23. Hmmm bit of a problem then. Perhaps you will have to go with gut feeling, which do you prefer. Phil
  24. I have only bought a springer last year and found it very difficult to shoot compared to my PCP rifles. The gun I bought was a TX200 which now that charlie caller has tuned it, is very accurate but heavy and finicky pellet loading so I would not use it in the dark. I have not tried a break barrel for many many years but they are in the main, lighter. Must confess that I fancy looking for a break barrel to play with myself. Phil
