  3. I found it difficult at first with asking. But I realised where I was going wrong...I wasn't asking enough lol I must of asked shed loads of farmers and so on. And it's paid off really. I got land to shoot with air guns, I got land to ferret, and 3/4 fairly tidy lamping permissions with most stuff on, the only down side really is I have to travel 1hour to 1-30 mins. Which don't put me off really but prefer it closer. Haha... It really does make the night far more enjoyable, anyone who says they prefer poaching, have never hunted or lamped on permission...it's great. Park the car safe on the fa
  4. Don't think he's on about doing it for a long time. Just which quarry is the hardest/most testing to catch when being run. That's what I thought...still sticking to a hare
  5. without being stupid about it, how many people do you know with dogs, that take shit? Cos I don't know many that's for sure. As said, good luck to them.
  6. where did i mention poaching ??????you know what your getting at, but if u got caught with a lamp n dogs and few rabbits are u just roaming or poaching...
  7. He knows why people poach but rather people ask him. He's said three times I think, had they of asked there wouldn't be no issues. Lol
  8. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce the reason lurchermen have a shocking reputation in the farming community. It's not a couple of bunnies, it's potentially damage to stock / crops that you need to make a living. The fact our family has worked it's arse off for 4 generations to buy the land we work on and keep it in decent order doesn't give anyone with a dog the right to trespass. . But you haven't said anything about gun poachers so does that mean there ok to hunt your land you ???? Poaching poaching weather it with a dog or not that post you just made makes it sound like you hate lads
  9. have they really lost stock tho to lurcher men it seems the blame is always passed to us without any real links. seems every farmer on the plannet has lossed stock to dog men. also its like dogmen are only poachers????? about respect to the OP how about the 1000's of shooters who drive the lanes on back of 4x4's shooting anything that hits there sights. oh but thats ok because there foot doesnt actually touch someone elses land. yeah that sounds fair lol there knobs in every walk of life but to threaten to risk someones lively hood eg take car off them take dog off them and so on just for havi
  10. Don't see anything wrong with his post tbh. He didn't assume dog men had bad trained lurchers. He just said the neighbour lost stock due to bad train lurchers in past, which probably is true. I always have the decency to ask for permission, it don't hurt to ask and if your tidy about it you will soon get a few places.
  11. The way they'll do it is by adding prison sentences and confiscating dogs.still won't stop people
  12. Hahaha^ Got to be a hare for speed , stamina and agility.
  13. Anyone on here sell any or know best place to buy off the net, would like milbamax but need script, so drontal or equivalent cheers

  15. was a bull Wheaton with his grey as stud , think he mistyped
  16. No not at all there is good and bad in all lines . But it's pot luck buying pups/ dogs from a line of dogs that has never worked for decades and how do you know they are going to hold up with all the wear and tear from a working life.i get what your saying. But a dog that's worked will pick injuries up regardless, some dogs end up lucky some don't. That's my opinion on it. I don't know of one dog that's not had a good few injuries , feet, cuts, tears, ligaments etc. just part in parcel of working a dog I think. I don't own a Hancock btw, but know one fella who's had over ten, and few others th
  17. But the enforcer lamps are more or less the same
  18. No mate, I have a 50w HID 170 enforcer. Then a deben 10amp lithium. Abit expensive but the beam is great, the build of the lamp is quality and very law draw on battery for such a staggering distance of the beam.
  19. And I suppose worker to worker always produce top dogs then?
  20. Hancock surely puts that myth to bed? I know a fella who has had over 10 hancocks all have worked to a good stand. Could be a fluke though...
  21. Depends what your doing I suppose. But for an all round pot filler I like collie x.
  22. how many of them prosecutions were from running dogs? And what did they amount to? Was talking to one lad who were caught doing the worst thing possible and reacted in the worst way possible, and ended up with suspended sentence, couple hundred CSH,and about a 400 quid fine. Kept the dogs too. IMO that's a slap on the wrist for what they did lol
