  1. Why would it be impossible ? I'm not on about single handed
  2. How many of you older boys ever had chance to do it? What dogs were used and some stories would be great. No bitching. Haha
  3. Ye my first bitch lived in. Now my dogs live out, you never know what is around the corner with working dogs so the least amount attachment to family the better, as they don't tend to understand much lol Atb
  4. Joe, I gotta hand it to you it was the right thing to do. I mentioned it to you before on here, if he really is that bad the best thing to do would PTS, that would be my option. Other people might rehome but if he was unpredictable what's the point. I had my old bitch put down also, gutted but wasn't putting up with how she was. Not fair on either of you and pointless keeping something that doesn't keep you happy. Atb with your next choice, whatever it is you choose.
  5. Sounds like a nightmare mate. Looks a cracker fair play
  6. Is that a pure kelpie? Looks like it's crossed with a whippet, cracking shape
  7. we do.i see lots of lurcher x lurcher but not exactl what I thought was line bred, thought line bred had to be related all along the line? Have no clue how it works. I agree with cocker as well, rather have a well behaved dog and and not so good of a worker, than a top worker but a f****r to live with, no ta.
  8. go on go on you know u want to save me looking any further then ha .any pics of the kelpie
  9. A better dog man than me told me not so long ago that a line bred animal is only as good as the line it has come from.. So there will be some shite line bred animals and some exceptional line bred animals same as worker to worker... Only difference is that with line breeding you will know what your getting.. isnt line breeding the best to the best ? If so, what's the difference between a week worked bull , collie, deerhound etc crossed with a well bred successful sighthound? Just curious as never really looked into it. Is line bred/inbreeding holding the characteristics and genes from two s
  10. I know of 2 people that have kept a line for over 35 yearsthats good going. Just never hear of people breeding proper line bred stuff of lurchers, hear about it all the time with terriers though
  11. I do, but when it's dark I like to have a mate with me lolid say 90% people who lamp lamp with someone. Nearly every post on here is with someone. Lol but ohhhh noo, how dare I mention it haha
  12. Can anyone honestly prove that line bred lurchers do any better than lurchers bred from worker to worker
  13. Lamping partners? Thought everyone went lamping on there own ... :0
  14. been on the whites today other wise I'd be out.happy hunting.hope you got a few mate im jest in the door left 8.30 last night we must be crazy lolThat's some lamping session dai.did you see much about.few bunnys I went out myself for a few hours. 15. Haha he certainly is committed I had three the other night with him, second run the rabbit flat out towards hedge dog ten yards behind rabbit turn straight up hedged fencing and dog couldn't turn as quick , fence shaking and few cracks of the hedge and he pulled himself together and carried on chasing just missing the rabbit. Supprised he's not dead,
  16. Think it's a height thing as said, but I read somewhere the originals ran around feilds like headless chickens running all angles then striking last second confusing the fcuk out of rabbits and owners. On Jeff's tumbler stamp don't work like that lol does tumbler mean small then if their the same as beddy whippet
  17. Thought they are called tumblers because they tumbled with quarry lol
  18. Had he got the contact details of Adam and Eve!
  19. must be a right boring c**t you no one wants to go back out with ye hahalol looks that way mate don't it lol think most people I know like the idea of working dogs but don't really like the late nights an the miles u put in on foot when lamping.
  20. when there is any else in the cross but bull and sighthound. Bullxgrey/salukixgrey at a push id say is a bullx but a bullxgrey/colliexgrey has bull in it. Not a bullxA bull cross is bull blood and greyhound blood to me. Saluki bull grey or whippet bull grey is a lurcher. Don't suppose it matters what you call them if they work. Lol i agree with u gaz. But now looking at what he said, saluki is sighthound too. So I suppose it could be looked as a bull x.I think a bull cross needs a bit more than just a look or sight hound and bull blood ,as without it ,it's just a lurcher.Got one here at 11 t
