  1. Iv offered 4 boys on my new permissions all season. One jacked at the start, the other jacked after first outting and the other two only want to go when it suits them. That's why Iv lamped every night Iv been out on my own bar about 4 nights, two including when my dad tagged along I think. Only reason I persist in asking as I find it easier on brown big rabbits with two people. Bearing in mind I got permission , might not be the greatest people have seen but has got all sorts there. And the farmer also said to fill my freezer as and when it suits myself.
  2. dog men sating your mad going lamping yourself find that strangeThought that myself but each to their own.lol how many people on here that post about going out are on there own ? Hardly anyone. Always with someone else, the lads round here go out in 3-4s I'm not on about pottering about local I can feel a new thread coming on... Who goes lamping the most on their own? ? lol wasn't meant like that. Just genuine observation

  5. dog men sating your mad going lamping yourself find that strangeexactly. You'll be supprised how many people who don't go on there own
  6. How many people go miles from home in the middle of no where lamping on their own? I do myself and my misses and few boys that actually into dogs themselves call me mad. But wouldn't class myself better than anyone on here, which is what this thread has started to turn into
  7. when there is any else in the cross but bull and sighthound. Bullxgrey/salukixgrey at a push id say is a bullx but a bullxgrey/colliexgrey has bull in it. Not a bullxA bull cross is bull blood and greyhound blood to me. Saluki bull grey or whippet bull grey is a lurcher. Don't suppose it matters what you call them if they work. Lol i agree with u gaz. But now looking at what he said, saluki is sighthound too. So I suppose it could be looked as a bull x.
  8. And some c**t will come behind u and wipe local out anyway mate lll
  9. Lurcher to me is something that is able to put something in the pot day or night. Everyone is distancing themselves away from what a lurcher should be these days, like one big competition. Should be companionship and just enjoy being out there whether hunting , ferreting or lamping
  10. My collie x is light framed and rough haired if he goes in river there's nothing of him but is really cut, but not to the point of being vascular like most bull xs. He's fit as a fiddle and will just keep plodding on. My old bitch didn't have bull in her but I could get her looking like hulk but wasn't easy to just obtain, I played with her weights whilst working her. She worked better lighter and not so showy, but she never really had any stamina, not compared to the runt I'm feeding now anyway,
  11. And that's exactly why most working dogs are much healthier and cared for than the house bound park walked couch sleeping dog. Because every 1 on this section and others sections are addicted to dogs.working them housing caring training etc. And we are all doing the same thing and on the same path.and that's to better our canine best friends in any way we can. I think about dogs morning /day/night. Yes maybe my head is fecked lol. But it's a great hobby.feck the pubs give me the mountain and some dogs.. Your missing the point mate. If dogs are getting worked that hard that many times a wee
  12. The way most talk on here about there dogs getting worked every night of the week, with all the miles n miles of biking to get dogs fit and supplements and diets and god knows what I'm supprised there's anything left in Great Britain
  13. Way I see it shouldn't be separating us. We should all stand together what ever your chosen field sport is. Other wise they will pick us apart. That was my argument with him. Posh tit
  14. yes it was mate it was a 22 am i was there to see itwas only wondering as the one night I was out my 140 looked whiter than 170 that was run on an acid. There's no denying the 150 are great little lamps especially for the money they feel ALOT better than the tracer and strikers etc for build too
  15. Roybo was the 170 halogen running off a lithium? The halogens shine brighter off lithium than the acids.
  16. even though the light is white, I find it a dim white and difficult to spot also. If you ever have a chance take a look at the hid. It's a white light but far easier to spot.
  17. fair enough mate. I had a variable for years, barely used it. Had a fox in to 20 yards the other night with the hid without spooking. I suppose it would come in handy if you could have a half power switc as its not always needed.
  18. Iv not tried led vs a striker. So wouldn't know. If you want a lamp that has distance of the blitz, clarity of the LED , at far distance or at its limits, get the 170 HID. 50w bulb so half the draw of the blitz and sure on stats a couple hundred yard extra distance. You can do 50 rabbits with any lamp, it's having the dog and the place to do it. End of the day it's whatever people find suits them. I made do with 140, for ages. But even on the rabbits in large fields I was struggling to see what was happening. This new 170 Iv got have made lamping miles more enjoyable for me and have better c
  19. Same opinion as me then with the LED they don't seem right to me. I will stick with old faithful the lightforce 170/240i got the 170 HID, I was out with a mate with a 150, but his white light was dim to mine, found difficult to spot. Maybe that's the trouble people are mentioning when comparing to a halogen for spotting
  20. Those LED are ok, but find them lacking IMO and don't like the spot so tight. If I was going local and wanted a lamp to grab to have odd run, then I'd buy one, but I never lamp local.
  21. Was that when he took that bird shooting the wounded deer what had clearly been hit by a car?i had a go at that Charlie who narrates it, he posted it on Facebook. Tosser
