  1. Well when crossing dogs I like to know what's in them as you can gauge how tall they will make and that is probably the biggest factor of lurchers. U choose a small dog for small stuff. A big dog for bigger stuff. A medium dog for a little bit of this n that. Also think temperaments that certain breeds ad is probably the most important of all. I get on with collie xs as they do as they say and quite versatile (not all). But some people can't stand even a small amount of collie in a lurcher...
  2. f**k sake mate. Unlucky, atb in recovery
  3. Haha name of my dog that Phil, steady eddie
  4. I might be wrong. But there must be a reason he don't keep the blood in his dogs now over border x?
  5. Fella has a working greyhound that does well for few season limited injuries looking for stud and still gets preached at bout breeding from a greyhound. Let him do what he wants lol
  6. Give Dave sleight a shout think he keeps them...
  7. Not at all she is only 4 months old and this is just the start of her retrieve training ... For now I am happy that she will hunt the cover find and retrieve ... The polishing and fine detail will come later on down the line as she gets older .......only asking as my pup 6 month old and sometimes gives me it sometimes drops it. I play tug but that hasn't changed much I don't think. The main thing is he brings it right to me I suppose. She looks a lively little thingTeach the dog to hold and carry the dummy that way it will be less likely to just drop it at your feet ........well, it's worked a

  10. Depends solely on pup. Ask breeder if they did a mating before n ask them what pups turned ouy like
  11. I didn't mean use a collie x mate. Just there coat as an example. Really thick but smooth, instead of a rough coat
  12. Is it just a coat yiu want to add? How about a border collie x type coat. My pup is smooth coat but the coat is awesome, really thick n weather proof. He's only 1/4 collie 3/4 grey
  13. I bumped into one at a local field before with my lurchers, I initially thought it was a cross as it wasn't as tall, really strong but racey shape. Turns out it was a pure, I couldn't believe how quick ir was and it did not want to stop running fair play.

He has grown around 1 1/2 - 2 inch in two weeks mate, pain in the arse an like to spend more time in the garden ripping up my decking and makeing a mess of the garden or trying to like the ferrets to death throu the hutch. Just been and bought a load more chicken mince and tripe and I'v moved him over to gain puppy and sapling today aswell as some good milk powder to mix then put over his meal to give him some good calcium for his growing bones gain is a complete so go
  16. The less breeds the more chance of predicting the litter. None will be slow by any means Deerhounds when bred properly are like tougher greyhounds, better feet coat etc And abit slower but more stamina. Everyone moans about whippet grey have brittle feet, too fast, not enough stamina shit coat etc...so surely breeding deer x whippet would make a more useful whippet gry? If u catch my drift....
  17. Don't think you can beat a Russel, possibly a spaniel depending how thick cover is. Only thing with terriers the drop on.
  18. Just out of curiosity does it bother you dropping the dummy by your feet
  19. Without sounding like I'm being picky, by being only 18 months and doing all you said he's done, would of had to been through the hot weather...he may supprise you regards to stamina once the better hunting weather turns.. Atb
