  1. a few lads with jut beardy x grey are finding them hard work mate. How come?? Nervy, stubborn? Handsome is as handsome does I suppose.....stubbornness if not handled right mate. Gotta know how they tick. I'd say daytime hunting I'd have one. i had a half cross a long time ago took a long time to mature bomb proof temp easy to handle.Hunting up daytime was his strongest point.Liken them more and more. So anyone breeding a litter that aren't Handcock and ain't 300 quid.....hahawhat's 300 quod mate

  4. Guy said was OK. So here the 3/4 bred off Hancock, seem to have plenty in the tank for most people? All rabbit found by herself no ferrets, just walked up n worked for. The bitch is dead now unfortunately, I know of other Hancock bred lurchers plenty capable of filling freezers. Il have to wait few months yet before I even start my piece of shit Hancock lol
  5. Atleast if it all ends in tears you can just blame Hancock instead of yourself...
  6. prob only have a few with a tracer lol
  7. Not having a go mate. But you say ran the dog on until two then give it away. I presume u tried it on fox quite abit before this and persevered with it before eventually say it not for u? In my mind and owning collie xs or any lurcher I wouldn't enter it to fox. Until it was 2. But that's just me. Atb
  8. Lol it is maddening this amount of pages and bickering about lamps. f**k me lads what we like haha atb in selling them, the idea there but not for everyone. Last I'm saying on em I think lol roll on bad weather
  9. Ye the naughty boys I wouldn't have a pup off them as too much variations some 23 some 29 some built like snakes others are big dogs. The border x however, are bred in a way you can almost predict what you will get if u like. I would rather go else where believe me. But I wanted a genuine 3/4 greyhound 1/4 border collie and that's what i got. The comment about hares was only to point out about the stamina in them. Seems like u twist my words abit, you brought up 3/4 runs, because I said that ABOUT HARES...not a few rabbits and odd hare...like I also said, one fella o know with a 3/4
  10. And regards to greyhounds he has from ballymack kennels. There a bitch there called jenny, her sire is college causeway....There's some decent greyhound blood he has. They have got a couple of Irish coursing greys as well. But I'm sure you know that anyway.
  11. Your on about my expectations then say you can have 3/4 runs in one field... I'm on about hares, so you telling me your gonna be running daytime hares, 3/4 runs a fields, the way you make out your gonna be out all day so if u walk say 10 fields that's a minimum of 30 runs on daytime hares lok read what I put. I don't agree with the amount they breed all I'm saying is, there are more good dogs off them than alot of people talk about I can assure u that.
  12. The dogs produced in 80's and 90's were far superior to the sh*te he peddles now, there hasn't been a sire or dam worked in 30yrs, I've kept every cross from 1st cross,2nd and 5/8 grey 3/8 collie, the 5/8 was superb at everything, my lads had 2 off him in 3 yrs, couldn't take a knock and simply not good enough, both dead now, I like more than one breed crossed into a lurcher, them 3/4 are f*cked after a few decent runs, easy to blow out no matter how fit you get them, buy off decent working lurchers, WM Maybe your lad was just unlucky, if they were all like that he wouldn't still be selling pup
  13. Ye Hancock dogs are shit lol I said it loads of times I know of boys from Scotland to the south using them, from delboy, Arthur, merlin, Kubla, woody and boycey. And the lads that own em ain't on here, and judging by last seasons posts on here, do far more than most people on here lol dogs speak for themselves. As for 3/4 bred blowing out. I know 3/4 bred catching 20 plus hunt uo rabbits and two daytime hares, one lad with boycey bred dog only runs daytime hares don't miss much, and has 3/4 runs when out. Maybe it just me, maybe I'm lucky to know the few lads that I do...who knows lol
  14. like I said in previous post boys have had good bags with them... More to do with the amount of quarry surely? Or if I buy q special THL lamp will by bags of rabbits all of a sudden quadruple? Get real ffs lol
  15. Ye mate. Arthur is a collie produces half x. And the son of him is merlin and he produces 3)4 grey
  16. Maybe not for you, but how come everyone who sang there praises are now either going back or buying yet another new lamp?if I followed the trend I'd of already paid for my hid lol I spoke honestly about tgem even before lloydy started selling them, so don't think I'm trying to have a pop at him, I'm just saying what I found with led lamp. Ye boys have had big bags with them, that just mean there lucky enough to have decent land.I even think 150 is abit tight to be fair, on few runs dogs have clipped troughs etc where a striker would highlight it better.
  17. the hid cost me 200, but it's a longer tighter beam than the blitz, with less draw from battery than a 50w halogen and gives same distance as a Lance 140 even with a red filter fitted. As I say it is all the lamp I would ever need. I lamp small paddocks with it and doesn't spook the fields atoll. If you want to make a good lamp an even better lamp you can buy a silent halo, they work on the halogens as well, but it completely rids any glad you get off any lamp. Ye it's expensive but what's 200 quid? Nothing really..
  18. D lloyd no need to ask anyone. Used it all last season not a fault, at the time of having it was close to 18 stone I went in the air and landed on my side, apart from a scratch on ballast box it was sound.i rate them highly. Roybo as for other hid lamps out there they are cheaply made compared to lightforce...i went to see a lad with one before buying the lightforce. No comparison in build quality mate. Same as the whole enforcer range look on the net amd the lamps look head n shoulders better quality than the cheaper lamps kn my opinion.
  19. If you want a all rounder go 3/4 grey 1/4 collie should catch anywhere. Half x can be limited. I have a 3/4 bred at the minute off Hancock off merlin...superb pup and he has a solid robust collie body not too greyhoundy, cracking feet takes a nock and is very very keen for a pup. I know lots of boys with dogs off merlin all have sound temp taking all sorts day an night. Arthur throw big half x but also dogs off him taking all things day n night but more limited at the obvious. Atb with your choice mate
