Theres plenty of no soapers living in the woods and hedge rows around here. Last year a farmer friend of mine could not get a crusty no soaper to move from the centre of a crop circle , he told the farmer he was waiting to be taken. Another running through a corn field dress like a ghost with what looked like a white sheet all flowing behind him or her. Cheers Arry

So, Tell Us, What Are Ye All At In The Veg Garden?
Arry replied to JohnGalway's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
These are a couple of last years Runner Bean tubers (Armstrong variety) supposed to be good tasting, well not sure if they were any better than any other to be honest. They were in the ground all through the winter just under old ferret straw bedding, dug them up thinking they would be dead but looked okay. So put them in some damp peat in the green house and they have started to shoot and if you see there are seven or eight shoots not just the one you get from a new bean. Trouble is put in all new seed and their doing well, just have to slot a few in between and try and give the rest away. -
My mate gave away the biggest hob i'd ever seen a about new year time and it was a polecat to a girl who keeps them as pets, he was really good tempered soft as a brush. Apparently she takes on walks on a lead and he loves jumping in some lake for a swim. He got two kits last year from different lads one grew and grew into an otter size hob the other a jill ended up like a micro. If you want ill ask the lad he had the big one off if he's breeding again. Cheers Arry

Think that called a Green Lurcher now. Lol. Does any body remember those shots in little bottles (think they were rapped in brown paper) in a shotgun cartridge belt hanging behind the bar for hang overs. I think they were called "Underberg" or something like that. Cheers Arry

I use six bog rolls in a mushroom container for runners works really well have a look in the photo. Been stagger them six one week then two weeks later another six trying to draw out cropping. Dug up the old tubers from last year which just had straw over them, thought they would be dead, been under nine inches of snow twice but they looked quite good. So put them in some damp peat in the green house and some are shooting I can't believe it. Cheers Arry -

keep getting calls from john or peter or paul type names from a Birmingham number and really from India. So when they ask to Mr A I told them he had committed suicide due to harassing phone calls, the phone went dead. Touch wood they haven't called back, was going to say its in the hand of the police and they are tracing the call but went dead to quick. Cheers Arry

I know next to nothing about be keeping Bees but heard a old saying. A swarm in May is worth a rick of hay. A swarm in June is worth a silver spoon. A swarm in July is not worth a fly. Cheers Arry

You were lucky mate. Grapes, raisins, and even currants (some currants are actually small, black grapes) are toxic to your dog! In fact, there have been anecdotal reports of cats and ferrets being affected by these also. Ingestion of even a small amount of grapes, raisins, or currants can result in severe, acute kidney failure. Cheers Arry
