I remember my father at 60 could not walk up the hill from my house to his 300 yard and not really that steep. Smoked all his life but they didn't know for most of his life they was never told it would harm them or worse kill them. It f****d his health had strokes al sorts and all down to the baccy. Brother in law just had an operation for cancer had deep vein thrombosis, veins on his leg look like road maps. Smoked all his life just given up and on Chemo. Cheers Arry

Nothing has changed mate it was like that when I was young and had kids never had two half penny to rub together. Worked hard and harvesting game to help saved and still got in trouble after the first recession had to take a loan out that was a mill stone around my neck. Hate to say it but it's the kids that keep you poor and still helping my son out now from time to time. Would I change anything if I had my time again? No of course not it was a struggle at times but some of my best memories were we the kids were small. What I would say is plan for when you are old now though. Cheer

I'm retired now but worked till 66. In my early 60s was working on the cards as a maintenance manager but had a row with the owner and walked off the job. After taking dip shit jobs agency work etc you soon realise no f****r wants you in you 60's or they want you but don't want to pay f**k all. So went back self employed odd job maintenance, hedging, driving machines and gardening any thing really. Was great earned enough could take a day off to go fishing or ferreting when wanted. My mate I ferret with bought a Hob ferret was told both parents were fairly small, well it grew into something the size of an otter and no good to us. So he gave it to a girl that keeps ferrets as pets. She takes it for walks on a lead and lives inside the house with her and apparently works out fine. Cheers Arry

Always find it's a farm dog that follows you are the worst. End of last year we had tilled up entered the ferrets to quite a large hedge burrow half a mile from the farm. Farm dog starts barking at the farm but slowly slowly comes closer till ten yards away as I'm ring the farm, too late laid up and had to dig. Cheers Arry

To be honest we don't get many that won't bolt to a good ferret. The worst thing imo is that the rabbits become aware of a dog ie barking, whining or digging at a hole when marking. How good the ferret is comes into play and the size of the ferret imo. Me and my mate have a mixture of size ferrets and it the small one cant bolt it I enter a large gill I have and most come out then. I gutted I tried to breed off her four time she is now over 8 years old and its never happened. Cheers Arry

Mate it's late in the year to find them unless it's a rehoming job there will be loads spring time. I lost two of mine this year, we I say lost died. Would have loved to find a late kit but they are like rocking horse shit this time of year. Cheers Arry
