    An old vet still works in surgery where I am proper dog vet but it's ya need to see with a working the rest in there all new fresh from college vetinary nurses anall they just run it like a business alot working dogs have been brought in recent havnt come out the other end after they open them ruined few decent bitchs with there sections.

    A lot of human meds are fine for dogs and honey is great for open wounds my youngest dog is 12 and hasn’t seen a vet since his vaccines when I got him the russels 17 and her one and only visited to the vet will be the end of life one

    I know this won’t work for everyone but I’ve found having the vet on account makes it far easier to handle them. When the give you the silly statement you can just say f**k off im not paying that I’ll give you this. Has worked so far

    As an aside, my old farm collie mongrel opened her side up on a bit of fence wire last summer, like it literally skinned her to the point you lifted her skin up completely on one side and could see inside her ! So, took her down my local vet right away (7pm) and said to them what can you do with that ? They were a bit shocked but said they could fix it, so I said “How much, because if it’s a monkey I’ll take her home and shoot her” “€150” they said, smashing, crack on ! Do you not think some of this comes down to honesty and having the legs to sit a kid down and explain a few things in a kind and gentle way ? Like, there no way in gods green earth ten grand is warranted in a family pet !…….ever !     Think they brought a law in last week making all vets show there prices up front so you can now find the best deal apparently before you go

    The vets I use is now part of network of surgeries around the area. I'm slightly fortunate that the vet I have used for the last 27 years was part of the old practice before it was taken over and as such, she knows my feelings towards ridiculous costs and often agrees. My next door neighbours daughter has a 9 year old lab that has had tumours removed, £11K. With more to come. Madness! Cheers, D.
