The breeder we used for the stud dog was saying that most police dogs spend 10 hours a day in a box in the back of a car so they don't need any fancy working lines just a loud dog with a good off switch, he had some malis cross shepherd's that looked nice but he sed was hard work, he was an interesting bloke was explaining what different forces want in a dog etc and how they test them
-
Aussie Whip started following Shepherd types
-
My nephew from the UK, now living in Perth has got a German Shepherd from working lines. It's a huge dog, almost pure black and he has trouble keeping it occupied. The Malis I've seen should only be owned by law enforcement or guarding air force bases and jobs like that, they are too much for almost anybody else. The nephew's dog has no genetic health problems though.

Get in touch with the lad who’s greyhound igz used. There’s a greyhound stud topic recently with pictures of the dog and its peds on there I think

tatsblisters started following Hoopoe
-
Seen the odd egret on some local lakes. Never seen an hoopoe in the wild and another bird that must be pretty rare as you never hear about sightings of it the wryneck.
-
Plenty of hares about I'm seeing around 20 on a short walk, lying around in groups of 4, and odd 1s and 2s this place was lifting 30 year ago, then got hammered with lamping, and now they are coming back well Good to see, here's a few of my dosser pics at dusk Nice little pocket of healthy rabbits aswell

German shepherd types and similar I've always had a liking for them, but with having the runners never looked into them properly and hearing about hip dysplasia and too much breeding for looks etc There was about 15 to 20 people in a 7 acre woodland when I saw the Mali so maybe he had enough going on to keep him quiet, and his owner had been away with him for a few hours, I'm not saying I would have a Mali myself, but if there is a shepherd type or some bloodline to look out for that is suited to being out in the countryside going for decent walks/travelling about and being at the woods

Going this week to look at an HW110k and an FX DRS classic, strap on a scope and test in the range or bring home to test. At the moment I am jumping from one gun to the other and back again but I think I will be buying the 110. I did look at a range of other guns , AGT, Daystate, Brocock, FX, Airmak etc etc but the prices now are feckin stupid with nothing really under a grand and for many thats second hand so we are looking at around £1500 for many of them and considerably higher. This market has just gone mad, to pay up to £2k for a sub 12 is bloody crazy. Phil

Go to any track and you find a stud,I'd be looking for something that's already covered Deerhounds and producing the goods that's why I say call platts
-
Not if he wants a genuine 3quater bred it doesn't,
-
Maybe get in touch with Dave sleight or even Dave platts ,both men keep Deerhound xs and Dave sleight runs track dogs and both are involved in producing Deerhound lurchers that are fit for purpose.
-
Is any premier league football about the community mate ?…..I don’t think it’s been that for a long time.
-
People are quick to forget we were f***ing awful under Moyes as well…..his horrible soulless, gutless brand of grind football he can shove up his arse the dour jock c**t ! lol Nah mate, this is a higher problem than managers. I’m not crying about it, I’ve been following my little club long enough to expect nothing.
-
In fact your better off looking for a well bred saluki Lurcher coursing dog, that will offer a lot more than a greyhound
-
Your not going to find many or if any working or coursing pure greyhounds nowadays mate, your best off looking for a good staying racing dog
-
Paradise mate, it’s not often best dogs in the country miss two summer hares on land where the hare has no where to go mate. all these challenges he’s got coming up and he’s missing the easy hares already I bet he be having a drink or ten tonight
-
All that big open land Scotty ….. fit six of our fields in that one there that’s like a desert to me
-
Do you mean German Shepherds? There's a few members on here have worked with them. Member by the name of Downsouth? You found a Mali which was "nice and steady". It must have been drugged or anaesthetised lol. I couldn't get along with one. Far too restless and hyper for me. Worse than border collies in my opinion.

Their numbers have exploded. They must have found an ecological niche alongside herons. In fact they seem to be thriving more than herons . Similar with collared doves. They were introduced in the fifties and do as least as well as wood pigeons. I quite like their call. Just as nice as woodies.
