I should have made it clearer that I was referring to a less than salubrious area of a less than salubrious town, Sunderland. I refuse to call it a City, as at the time it had neither of the pre-requisites of a cathedral or university and it was only granted the status of “City” after many years of the inhabitants weeping , wailing and teeth gnashing at the perceived , but unwarranted, injustice of their magnificent neighbour, Newcastle , being so superior Cheers. (but my best pal of 50 years is a Mackem ).

It never ends well when working class people brag about their former poverty. It can get quite heated. 'I was poorer than you!' One up manship takes many forms.lol

I've been browsing and reading about the 'war'. One thing struck me. The American right swept Trump into power. Rightist think tanks led by Steve Bannon , Charlie Kirk, Tucker Carlson and others have been strategising the right's forward march in America and Europe. Decades of liberalism, rightly or wrongly have been pushed back. The right seem united on immigration, race, the 'castration' of men in modern society, opposition to Islam and the promotion of christian values. But the right is divided on Israel. Many right wingers led by young men like Nick Fuentes, share nazi ideolog

I’m joking, as a Geordie , about Hendon, Sunderland, mate Cheers.
-
I didn’t think Hendon was so bad in comparison to some of its neighbours staggering to walk the old haunts of NW London now and see the high streets they are completely unrecognisable.

Tower hamlets and the Isle of Dogs were wastelands back then,it was a posher home away from home,I felt quite gentrified

Lots of affluent Iranians in Knightsbridge nowadays mate,I was surprised at the size of his property portfolio, two of his apartments are within 50 yards of the Israeli embassy.
-
I lived in Tower Hamlets almost 40 years ago and it was actually a step up from where I came from I went back last year to see the area,London has fallen.

Good to have some decent weather instead of the shite we've had. Some I see say your mad walking in this weather. Am thinking to myself you serious. Dogs need to be out rain or shine. I'm a big believer don't have a dog if your not willing to put the miles in. That be a working dog or not. f***ing hate these c**ts that have dogs and don't let them see anywhere other than the garden.- 11,263 replies

You know, I didnt mind staying a couple if nights in Golders Green a few years back when I had a couple of meetings in the area.. However, I wasn't as keen on Tower Hamlet when I met an Egyptian there one evening for some work, he was pleasant enough to be fair...but there was a stark difference in the 2 areas, I know which one i preffered... just saying

Serious question, does anyone here seriously believe Iran can out-war the American war machine ? If you do, just say yes……

They do not like it up 'em, they do not like it up 'em! Don't know if you've noticed the flag/banner below on televised games? Has come in for much veiled criticism and ridicule from the TV pundits. Jamie Carragher in particular has a problem with it. Basically laughing at us as it takes more than attitude for peasants to feed at the master's table. Before the League Cup final last year Carragher suggested that this flag, fuelled by support from the fans, encourages the players to become reckless and undisciplined. We won the game. Same last night, hosting football royalty, we got in
