**sorry for the double post**

I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but

Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.) 

Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think? 

She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

Completely diffrent but I know a women who had a completely deaf spaniel trained to a high standard. And now used as a therapy dog. She just adapted to its down full and can’t be used for field trailing and picking up Luke she intended

Obviously she will have her limitations to obedience, as she can’t hear you.. hand signals can be taught but obviously that’s only of any use when she’s looking at you. And she’s 4, so it won’t be as easy as training a pup.

This may sound daft but as there are varying degrees of deafness in people and dogs can hear frequencies not audible to people is it totally deaf? I'm thinking a "silent" dog whistle.

Only had personal experience of 1 deaf dog and that was a white Lakeland terrier bitch belonging to someone that I used to know when they were the were all the rage that did a bit off work on foxes underground. I fell out with him when he bred a litter of pups from her. Below ground terrier work is different to lurcher work of course but I have had 2 terriers that were more than competent rat and rabbit ferreting dogs and thinking back when communicating with them it was far more eye contact and basic hand signals than words.

Women next door has a deaf collie, Fine until its off the lead, has a right job getting it back. A bloke i know who is an avid pigeon shooter use to have an old black lab that was deaf from being in the hide for years that worked ok on hand signals but at distance it became a problem.

no mate october start for me no pups just few mile with bain tonight she was sat in rain with her bike at 9 when i got in ready to jog dogs keen for 7 she will  stop more hares then you this season lol
