Car washes.

Recommended Posts

I cleared out one of those Albanian hand car washes about 5 years back, it was in an old bus station right in the centre of a small town/ large village all the office area was covered in mattresses a stacks of porn and half the bus station was a massive weed grow, made a grand on all the armour cable and light ballasts plus a few other bits and bobs, only time I’ve been in one I think ?

Those sponges they use are full of grit/ mud etc just scratch the paint. A local pub near me had kids washing cars for charity, but the local foreign car wash came up and shut them down.

Some soft c**ts round your way to let that happen.

About 10 years , When I lived in a block of flats and has a nice motor ,  I used to hand wash my car every other weekend out the front .

an older Middle Eastern geezer used to stand and watch me , bringing me brews out etc . He Never had a motor longer than a week , always smart , usually a white merc of some type , I came home from work in my kit to get ready to go home up the road for leave and had a few bags etc with me .

Next day I came out to find him and two other lads , waxing off the polish on my car , car looked immaculate , alloys gleaming , sparkling , he says next week we’ll do inside as your doing it wrong!
I can’t have that I told him. No no , for you , for your help in my country.

never crossed my mind about him being an Iraqi , struck up a conversation in passing after that , then one day a while later he disappeared. Not long after I seen one of the younger lads in the apartments and I asked him where he’d gone . He’s returned to Iraq to fight isis , turns out my old neighbour was a Kurdish militia leader and he decided he wasn’t having that happen in his country.

he said I was to take my car to any car wash in town and have my car cleaned using his name . I laughed and thought he was as kidding , turns out he wasn’t , and although it was gratis , I always chucked a tenner at the lad doing it .sometimes they’d spend an hour cleaning my big Volvo estate , would come  out like a a showroom .

we were never mates , we had nothing in common really , but I do often wonder what happened to the old boy .

my mate from work  lived up the road in another estate and he had the same treatment , they used his car as the picture on their advert placards , and it was my neighbour who had approached him also .

as I’ve said earlier , if I could find an English barber who could cut hair properly so I don’t look like Lloyd Christmas , I’d go there . Sometimes you have to accept things for what they are .

Exactly, Albania is not the country it used to be!

Went there on holiday about 4 years back, now I don't pretend to have inspected the whole country but, it far exceeded my expectations!

Send them back instantly!

Used the Asian one in great Harwood a couple of times , think it was a fiver and they do a decent job . Also tried the Eastern European one in Rishton once and the fcukers managed to take about 40mm piece of the lacquer off the passenger door and didn’t say nothing. Only saw it when I got out of the car at my mums 10 minutes later so couldn’t prove it was them and it cost me just shy of £200 to get sorted . Back to doing it myself now
