We had to switch my dad off yesterday. Basically they did f**k all for him until it was too late. He died gasping due to pneumonia which was not treated correctly. We all had to watch him go at 64 years old whilst some slag was asking her mates if they wanted a take away delivery. I’d say they are understaffed but the ones they have for the most part are lazy fuuckers who do a shite job. We cant even bury him until the New Year ffs! What has gone wrong with this country! Sickens me that I can’t wait to get back to Spain because of all this. At least they bury you within two days and take good care of the infirm.

Shit that mate, sorry for your loss...

It's fck all to do with under funding or under staffing.

There's more doctors and nurses now than ever before.

The funding is there.

It's the systems that are fcked. Hundreds of pounds to change a light bulb. A local hospital pays 70 grand a year for pest control, for that they get 1 man visit for 1 day a week checking rat boxes and fly killers. On top of this we have just let enough people into the country to fill the city of Liverpool....in one year!

Neither labour nor the Tories are going to change this. Labour will increase immigration and borrow more money to throw at the car crash.

Jobs fcked.

Last week I phoned for an ambulance for my wife, I was on hold for 5 minutes before I could even ask for the ambulance.

Meanwhile 3 local hotels are full of these.

Some real sad stories on this thread lad, shit all round..

I've written a few times about our experiences in with the NHS system over the past 13 years or so...and there has been some howling mistakes and decisions made, from putting up the wrong blood type for an infusion, my wife had to argue over and over to stop them putting the wrong blood in her ffs... to treatment going wrong, leaving her covered in chemical burns all over her body, thats bad luck.. but our local specialists had no idea what to do about it...I kid you not they opened a medical cupboard and my wife took creams, lotions, washed etc "to try and see what one works best".. at the time she was having light treatment 3 times a week to try and control the sores... her hair was falling out, she was in agony and I watched them pour bottles of lotions in her hand bag... we ended up in St Thomas hospital, London where they were fantastic... we also ended up at St Marks, London and they were amazing...

I watched a porter roll a trolley over sick in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, when.my dad was there with a blood clot on the brain..I couldn't believe my eyes...

There are many angels in the NHS, I have first hand experienced many... there are many lazy ass layabout c**ts who care nothing for anyone... I have seen them too...

It is broken and money alone won't fix it

Loads of good mate, you just see lots of mistakes and some neglect the more your around hosputals... when it's peoples lives/bodies their should be no room for error or excuses... there is billions pumped in but too much wasted and not where it should be imo.

As i said there are some absolute angels in the NHS a lot more than bad eggs for sure... one stand out nurse was a phillipino, she was a beautiful person and exactly as someone who cares for people should be, engaged with everyone in the ward with warmth..she stood out

Aye it’s a shitter. Poor cnut tried his best. Was just let down by the system. They put him on “end of life care” basically fill them full of morphine and hope they go in peace. I had to kick off so that they would put a saline drip in because he was dehydrated to f**k and even unconscious he was trying to drink the water I was putting on his lips to moisten them because of the oxygen. Told them f***ing straight you’re going in the national newspapers because of this. Our kid is part of a parliamentary group talking about disability rights he’s well placed to create some noise and he’s going to. Imagine leaving a dying man with severe dehydration and your supposed to be making his last moments comfortable. PRICKS!!!!

Thats a shame sorry to hear that.....fair play you was with him when he went, good for you.

The phillipinos are good at carers they are natural at looking after people, probably one of the most annoying Asian accents tho??

COVID payments on wards in the PI was just under a quid a MONTH,yup just under a quid a month extra risk pay for working on a covid ward, small wonder the nursing courses fill quickly as a route out.

think some people are in jobs that they just shouldn't be and others that embrace there work!

could reel off a fair bit about the nhs but I won't.

my nan died in an end of life private/locally funded hospital on the outskirts of Manchester and I will never forget how good the staff were, the place was lovely.. all the rooms looked onto a well looked after pond/garden area.

I took my little lad with me he was only about 4 at the time and one of the male nurses scooped him up, took him to the kitchen.. got him an ice lolly and played with him in the garden so we could have some time alone!

im not surprised the place dose so well with donations cos as bad as the reason your in there the level of care I saw was unreal
