Just as much roe as hare heading towards Hull, can't beat running both at daytime.

Oh deffo they are tools for a job but when you need a dog that will stay close and concentrate on game at hand then it’s a pain in arse, lots of collies an collie crosses are the same, but it’s been sort of bred out of them where’s with a coursing type it’s a handy trait to have on big land, always noticed deerhound crosses had seriously good eyes aswell

definately mate you need that when running hares but other things could be a nightmare his eye sight is a strange un he will see hares moving  at a distance you cant ive not seen it before

the thing always surprise me with the deerhound xs was how well they get down for the size its good to see scoop up in there stride effortless

you’d be hit behind the nearest bush mask up you wilf ? only joking mate

why are they a specialist tool mate ? kill bunny’s like any excell on hare and bambi

No, I don’t doubt it at all mate.

It was I just looked at that lovely animal in the picture and it looks so finely tuned….my first thought was “I’d break that just knocking about”……I’d be genuinely worried to run it at anything except what it was bred for on the ground it was meant to run on.

As I say, it’s not some big statement, it was just something that glided into my head when I looked at the picture.

Once again, fantastic looking dog, a credit to its owner ?

I had a coursing type dog once, came to me as a gift.

It was out of a fairly well known coursing lads stuff, I just found it very fragile…..it was always breaking toes, or knocking itself up or some other injury…..maybe in the hands of a better owner it would have been different but it just wasn’t robust enough for me.
