Read back through what I’ve said fella ive not said there won’t be any in England is what I’ve said is the likelihood of them being good courseing greyhounds if they were any good the kennels would keep on to them for breeding its cast dogs that weren’t good that are given away or sold cheap to get rid.a lot of people with a ex track Irish bred greyhound will Blag it being a courseing greyhound

Been round greyhounds most my life close family still doing it.. Most greyhounds are out of good dogs as a dog has to have a certain amount of points here in ireland before it can be a stud dog thousands of greyhounds pups every year kennels can't keep them all but your obviously not going to get a top class race dog to breed lurchers off but most bred well and tbh there's a bit of a difference in track and coursing most coursing dogs are bit bigger then track dogs most track dogs that go on coursing field wasn't any good on track and chancing there arm in the field

Oh I see so it could av been a shite none worker if you had no idea about it’s background ? When I got my bitch it was coz after a lurcher no a terrier and without looking I wouldn’t know if Rambo was in its lines or cared really but was chasing the dragoon tryin to get sumat similar to what I once bred , bedlington have more strings to there bow that just earth dogs I was told there sire was used to ground not that asked or give a toss if it did or not , And wouldn’t big the dog up as she not as good as others I’ve had but is doin the job I got her for ,as for foxes that just happened and to me that a fault as since that started terriers are fare game aswell , do you actually work your dogs or just come on here to slate everyone else’s

Could of been who knows exactly I wouldn’t  guess tbh just bred from dogs that could do the job without keeping starting back at the beginning. Come on mate I don’t need to know your life story I’m glad your happy with your f1 I think your taking any post on here personally like it’s aiming just at you it’s a general reply any time I’ve commented on someone else’s reply/post on here your replying to my comments ??‍♂️As for do I work mine your answer is yes mate i enjoy lamping/mooching as often as I can an the odd bit of ferreting I’m not out 7days/night aweek and before you ask is my dog a specialist dog your answer is no but it’s definitely a dog I can use an not restricted ?what! Slate everyone else’s dogs show me we’re I’ve slated everyone else’s dogs?? I’ve gave a solid opinion my own admittedly on a cross that’s not up to much these days due to ingredients out there an many who work beddy xs would agree.(not on about your dog!!)
no point in playing the victim card mate asking do I work my dogs an trying to make out I’m slating peoples dogs

I’ve said it loads of times but I cannot for the life of me think why anyone would want a first x Beddy whippet or grey. I understand the lurcher to lurcher bred Beddy type runners but can’t think what you get from a first x that can’t be found better else where other than a fashionable look or commercial opportunity, or just good old breed blindness.

You won’t get fashionable look with a first x , it mite be good feet , coat , and drive oh and to some they easy to get into the water and thick cover and they don’t sulk apart from that bedlingtons are shite

I dont know mate, going by what you see around the place, the beddy whippet 1st x is a running dog, much loved by upper middle class country show goers.

What I'm saying is - I reckon you would find a lot of other terriers out there who would have much much much more to add in a 1st x breeding, and would bring the feet, coat and drive. Same with working cover.

Ive seen a fair number of handy terriers doing various things, and none of them were bedlingtons. If I was after breeding a whippet to a terrier to produce a runner, i couldn't for one minute think why id go and search for a beddy . . . . .

I’m sure there’s good ones out there mate, I’ve seen two in the flesh. However I’m just saying, these days I don’t really see the logic in searching for a Beddy to breed a first x as there are many other terriers out there that would bring as much or more to the table in my opinion

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

Hi to all, so I've never owned a whippet before and have encountered an irritating habit that got worse in the last month of ferreting and was wondering if anyone out there has had success minimising noise during ferreting?
So he runs prey silently, almost never barks at home so I was very happy going into his first winter, but.... when the ferret slot machine is not paying out fast enough for his liking he yips at the holes he senses are near the underground action. On top of that, if he runs a bolted rabbit to ground again he persistently barks at the hole while constantly looking at me as if to say "get them ferrets over here mate, I've got one for you"
I've a very experienced collie lurcher who is a dream to ferret with but the whippet seems to make no reference to the good stuff he does. Any ideas on managing this?

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea
