Like I keep saying, the economic threat is much worse than the health threat imo. Everyone seems to think the economy is there to make the rich richer, like the poor are immune to economic trouble because they're already poor.

Do folks think that mass isolation is going to make this infectious disease go away? Like if we shut down society for a month it'll just die away and we can all come out to play again. This is going to run its course and all we can do is keep the incident rate down to manageable levels, which at the moment it is.

Out of likes.?

I understand what your saying.  I know a total shut down of any country is impossible.

But the likes of schools, universities collages ect ect, just for a number of weeks till this levels off, could  help stop the spread of it.

I'm no  economist, or expert one health systems, just looking at it from a simple view.

Mate, I know I'm getting to be seen as a bit of a prick on this thread but whatever, just FYI there's apparently little actual evidence that hand washing is going to make any difference. This pathogen is airborne and the biggest risk for contracting it is breathing in a confined space with others. Hand washing isn't likely to help, making sure you are living a life that keeps your immune system tip top (sleep, nutrition, stress etc) and avoiding places like pubs etc is likely your best course of action.

Hand washing won't hurt but there's little to suggest it'll help, other than give worried folks something to do.

I wouldn't say your a prick, your passionate about you views, and so you should be.

You have nowhere left to turn imho mate, that’s why you can’t stop.

Tax (direct and stealth) is at an all time high, your debt is gargantuan and rising at an alarming rate every second, interest rates are at a historical low, nobody gives a f**k about anybody, you have forfeited society in favour of multi culturalism, destroyed your small towns in favour of faceless housing estates and “out of town” shopping and its all rests on you the consumer and tax cow.......you are in rag order and I have been saying it for ages and (again jmho) this will starkly highlight what a state you are in.

This isnt the blitz, we were a very different country then......we threw that country away years ago.

Why's any of that significant here. The entire developed world is as susceptible to this as we are in the UK. If the UK was getting it as hard as Italy, Wuhan, Spain, Iran, Germany, France, Switzerland then I'd agree we need to take more serious action, but we aren't. And I'll be f****d if I want to see the country go into recession and folks die from unfunded services long term anyway.

No no mate, you're being quite level headed about it all and I respect that. Problem is it might not level off until we get some level of herd immunity as the disease becomes endemic. I see China's daily incident rate has jumped up a bit which I suspect may be because they are trying to get folks back into work after getting on top of it.

The small country villages and towns are dieing a death, their not practical anymore to this generation. Nothing to keep them in them, no work, no money. Soon the whole of Europe will be like a bag of skittles, every colour and taste.

Corona virus deaths so far =6663

25000 die every day due to not having any food.starving to death.

The big fear and scare mongering is because the rich can die from this virus.

We are some race.us humans..

And look at them like sheep buying as much toilet paper as possible.

So they can keep ramming there heads with grub.

And keep on shitting..

I'm not even that passionate mate. I don't really care if folks want to have an emotional breakdown over this or whatever. I just want to try to bring some facts and evidence to the hysteria.

Well hopefully if this teaches us anything it’s that these places matter, community matters, common social bonds matter......what we have been doing is wrong and we have to stop even if that means being smaller and “poorer”.....whatever that means ?

The glories of our blood and state
Are shadows, not substantial things;
There is no armor against fate;
Death lays his icy hand on kings.
    Scepter and crown
    Must tumble down
And in the dust be equal made
With the poor crooked scythe and spade.

Some men with swords may reap the field
And plant fresh laurels where they kill,
But their strong nerves at last must yield;
They tame but one another still.
    Early or late
    They stoop to fate
And must give up their murmuring breath,
When they, pale captives, creep to death.

The garlands wither on your brow,
Then boast no more your mighty deeds;
Upon death’s purple altar now
See where the victor-victim bleeds.
    Your heads must come
    To the cold tomb;
Only the actions of the just
Smell sweet and blossom in their dust.

We won't be poorer, but richer in we get to  keep our culture and belifes, tighter communities, be more self reliant, use what we have to our own advantages, for our own use.

Wilf, do you even look at the stats? All the countries in lockdown are suffering worse than us, that's why they're in lockdown.

Prevention is indeed better than a cure unless the prevention causes more damage. We're doing just fine fella.
