WILF 51,375
Fukc me there are some saints on here lol ... the lad was going a few miles over the limit not racing up and down a busy high street dodging pensioners and babies in prams ... everybody at some time has broken the speed limit and if they say they haven't their liars ... you will get a few points a fine and that will be it ... it's no big deal no crime of the century pay your fine and get on with life ... at a slower pace lol ........ I don't think anyone in their wildest delusions would call me a saint but what I'm not going to do is blow smoke up the arse of a perfectly intelligent bloke when he comes in here crying over spilt milk.......its like when Pakis get nicked, it's never f***ing them and they don't like the consequences but they were happy enough to do it at the time

bird 10,014
I have done hundreds of thousands of miles all over Britain over my working life and seen some terrible driving. Speed is normally nearly always the deciding factor in accidents, so I am afraid I have to say I have no f***ing sympathy at all.......because there's no reason for it, in the grand scheme of life 10 or 20 miles an hour may save someone a couple of minutes in their journey but it may also be the thing that wipes out some poor innocent sod. There's an easy way out, slow the f**k down. your are right really wilf, we all took risks , over taking cars, etc and for that extra 5-8 mins being bit late , that extra 15 mile an hour can kill or maim somebody. He is proof to this, my son who is 30 now, when he was 12 he ran across the road to get to his mates, who were skateboarding the other side on a park. now he seen this car he said but did not think it was going as fast, so he took a chance the idiot . the car hit knock him over top of the car he broke his shoulder/ and arm, but that was it, he was lucky it didnt kill him. the bloke was doing 35 mile a hour in a 40 mile zone so he was safe . now the surgeon who done the OP on my son putting pins in shoulder , told me if the driver had done extra 10-15 mile per hour, my son would have been , as the slow impact threw him over the car, a faster car would have gone right into him and killed him. So yes Wilf you are 100% right deff mate i try to keep to speed limits now, what ever the speed zone is , but there are times when in 40 or 50 zone and you get people still drive at 30 , that can cause you to drive to quick just to get past them, but i try not to take risks if i can help it . I've always wondered about these "speed kills" statements. True, inappropriate speed kills, but these huge generalisations about what would have happened at a different speed don't make any sense. If the driver had been doing 31 in a 40, but braked later or not braked as hard, it would or could have been worse for your lad. Someone doing 40 in a 40 but braking properly might not have hit your son at all. Either way, glad he was ok. thanks

Hooray a normal sensible reply....lets have it right cars are being built faster than ever yet we are all being told to slow down !......even a crappy little 1000cc Fiat today accelerates quicker than the cars we was souping up with all the performance mods years ago and some of yous claim you never speed....bullshit !! We,ve all played silly buggers at the wheel but theres a time and a place my last speeding fine was going through a 30 camera at 47....ok that's not good but a,it was 4 o clock in the morning on empty roads and b,i was still in first gear .....yes i know im an immature prat but we only live once and driving round London theres no option but to drive sensibly so we have to make the most of the empty roads through the night I know its not something to take lightly but in my opinion theres far more dangerous vehicles on the road than just fast ones but nobody does their bollocks about them.

DogMan85 722
It's all bollocks anyway. The government don't give a fcuk about speeding in fact they welcome it, it's all about the £££££. With GPS today they could easily have restrictors that change depending on the speed limit.
Greyman 32,583
Greyman, I wouldn't wish that on anybody before you start jumping up and and down and I don't know the circumstances so what the f**k bringing me into a conversation about your crippled dead brother is something you feel the need to do is anybodies guess ?! Only you know the circumstances so only you know the truth so don't be telling me what I would say about something like that my comment regarding the bro was to hi light the fact it's a lottery beyond our control three people in a car one f****d two without a broken finger nail, it's just carma and no ones fault speed had no bearing on the outcome, my comment regarding you was to hi light people who are willing to condemn others for doing something we have all done, as the old saying goes if you live in a glass house don't throw stones, I hope I,ve clarified myself, and sorry if I,ve upset you
