Sell it and buy a proper lurcher ......

Good luck with the whippet mate. My 1st dog was a whippet got me into hunting this site nearly putt me off with all the posturing but the whippet kept me hunting and it didn't take me long to see that

I'd say 'don't listen to 99.9 % of the 'experts' on here and just enjoy your pup for what it is

Don't listen to king he got a bull x lol

I just hope they do what I've got them for mate.

Mice and rats.

Mice are illigel lol

I've carried the wardrobe door complete with 5ft mirror up the mountain.and used the polystyrene from a new washing machine to call them in.

And judging by the size of the mice up there I think the only chance I've got is to double up both my dogs and hope they can get a good grip on his tail.

I have though about building a feeding station compete with 48lb of double Gloucester.

So I can sneak up on them when they are gorging on said cheese.

You seem to be bothered about a few things take your time with the pup feed it well train it to the level of obedience you require. It will be a learning curve for both of you enjoy your time with the pup be positive im sure with time and patience you will end up with a decent little rabbiting dog.

a lot of pups are ruined by people who try too hard. dont mess with dogs head teaching it tricks and what people call formal training. The main thing for any young running dog is having the freedom to move and learn to run. All you have to do is take it out for walks. Watch you dont over tax it or get it cold and wet while its so young though. Ive had whippets and been out with them and they are great dogs, even the little shivery ones with bulging eyes are still game for it if exposed to it. good luck anyway mate.

Don't get a whippet in hope it makes a big dog is my advice. Buy a whippet because you want a whippet and predominantly a rabbit dog although they will get stuck in elsewhere. Don't worry about height, big heads and how to enter it. Get it listening to you with a strong bond up until 12months then start thinking about the rest. Good luck.
