Get a fecking none ped Ali, cheap as chips and it'd do the job just fine! Or better still buy a burgalar alarm, you dont have to stimulate, excercise, feed and shovel up after electricity! Supposed to be great guard dogs had them in the 80s, they were good in the old days 1930s , when were used as keepers night dogs . but today bull mastiff are unfit,docile and to big to work proper, the old dogs were about -100lb fit agile dogs, todays pet stuff show stuff go up to 140lb slow+ bad hips ,the only bullmastiff I seen any good today was x to a pit it looked more like the old type bullmastiff of the 1930s. if wanted a good guard/watch dog get a well bred Alsatian from working lines, a 80lb male will stop any man , and be far more alert than any bullmastiff Agree 100% on the Bullmastiffs Ray Wouldn't have an Alsatian though,cant stand em how about Dutch shepherd or a bel mal , there good dogs , but bit more hyper than Alsatians . I love the colour of Dutch shepherds there great dog, they not been ruined / over bred , so very good working dogs , smaller than gsd , but stronger type than most mals. It's weird that a dog bred from a "working" shepherd hasn't retained the instincts. I wonder if it is anything to do with having Bryn next to him, there kennelled together , got there own sleeping quarters, but can get to each other. Bryn never barked as guard in 8 years lol, he likes people , but not over keen on strange dogs . maybe Buck thinks he not got to guard as Bryn don't and Bryn been top dog as yet , but that might be changing soon .
