  1. Luckily I haven't done it with rifles yet. But scopes many a time! I purchased a Nikko gameking 6-24x50 IR AO, huge thing, that sat on top of an AA S200. Shite combo, too many bells and whistles not enough good glass. I've let go of a few great scopes and thought 'why did I do that???' Simmons etc 1.5-5x20, Bushnell trophy 3-9x40, and recently an mtc genesis UL 3-9x40. All great scopes. Luckily I managed to hold onto another Bushnell trophy! Moral of the story don't let go of good glass
  2. I'll wait for a .308 to try that out on Bernie
  3. I'm sure that will look great and I bet a moderator will turn the bang to a whisper.
  4. Well was down the range tonight with the prosport again. I thought maybe time to go pcp as last week was a bit of a shocker, my groups were far too big. My usual set up for 20yds benchrest is done at 9x mag. I could make out a lot of detail at this mag, and importantly see where shots went. So instead I tried shooting at 4x mag, which is much more comfortable for hunting given the wide field of view. I couldn't see the impact point of most of the shots, but my groups soon tightened up- 10 shots in a 5p with 1 flyer on my first card, and my PB on a proper benchrest target card. P
  5. This looks like a bit of a bargain.
  6. Golden grey maybe? It looks like a right lunker!
  7. Cheers RFB! Really impressed with the super h point- these were doing around 740 fps. Nice flat trajectory. You can imagine or perhaps see the energy they are dumping on impact
  8. Hope this isn't seen as a silly answer but it's not your parallax you should be adjusting- it's the eye relief. The side focus or adjustable objective (front lens) will sort your parallax, the lens you look through will adjust the eye relief.
  9. Quite clearly the two on the right are not the same! The left one is jsb exact 8.44 the right is accupel 7.9 my bad.
  10. We have been renovating the house recently and had a few offcuts of plasterboard. So I decided to put them to good use! It turns out this stuff is pretty great for testing pellets with. These were all going through my 99 .177 at about 8.5ft/lbs. On the left is the RWS super h point, 6.9 grain. The middle is H&N barracuda extreme at 9.57 grain. The last is jsb exacts at 8.44 grain.
  11. If anything it's improved. Not sure why but this particular bandset is shooting really well- me and a mate were having a few fun shots at a can tonight and I was able to consistently hit a coke can at 25 yards, which doesn't sound much but for a pult I think I pretty good!
  12. So. That's cleared that up then ? no more pidges from the garden.
  13. Hi lads I'm after a one piece sportsmatch mount preferably as low as poss and double clamp for the prosport- anyone got one hanging about for cheapish? Thanks J
  14. I never mentioned but upon dressing it had a crop full of small fruits, they looked like mini apples some were ripe red others green, about 1cm diameter any ideas? Was thinking perhaps whitebeam berries? Here's the woodie dressed...
  15. Thanks rez- I think I'll probably not shoot over the garden again though. It's not a big garden and the neighbours are close so probably best off playing it safe, although the tree rats will have to be dealt with one way or another
  16. Hi kal theraband gold singles on the top and latex tubes on the bottom
  17. Is it? I thought it was okay on your own property? Will bear that in mind VM thanks
  18. Bought some natural latex '1842' to try out and I love it. As a single band it's a little light, perhaps a good target band but looped through the pouch holes it makes a very powerful band, similar to dub dub green or double theraband gold. Loving this current set up
  19. Nice one Bernie keep us all posted. Really considering a new trigger blade!
  20. Cheers lads. Only problem now is I've spotted two squizzers eyeing up the feeder. What a shame! Haha sorry about that Rez! I bagged it when I picked it up which didn't help much!
  21. The problem with mushrooms is it's not that hard to identify edible ones but that's not to say you won't be allurgic to them. I picked some birch boletus a couple of years a go they tasted great. A few mins later I coughed, thought nothing of it. Then I was coughing frequently, I couldn't stop, water didn't help. My eyes were watering my face was red and I could feel my throat swelling up, like it was going to close! Don't let that put you off though, just make sure you rub a bit of the mushroom you plan to eat on the skin of your arm well before you eat them- you should see some kind
  22. Springer... any AA or Walther LGV Don't have much experience with PCP's but the lads at the range all love aa's theobens and weihrauch. Couple disappointed with daystate and bsa.
  23. In the UK I would love to catch a big barbel, zander and catfish. A big smoothound or bull huss would be awesome. Never had a salmon or seatrout either, a big ol' salmon from Yorkshire would be something else. Internationally a giant travelly on a popper looks intense!
