  5. There's a woman near me, an OAP, walks a black lab. She has no control over it. It charges anything it sees coming; prams, kids, dogs. It'll run right off the field if it sees you coming in the distance and she lets it off the lead all the time. It'll hurt or kill something/someone some day. Try telling that old woman to get her dog under control. OAP she may be but she's got a mouth like a sewer and she actually wacked someone with her chain lead the other day when they were kicking her lab off their 14 year old, on lead terrier. Next time she calls me a dirty foreigner and gobs off at me fo

I must admit I'm really scared about letting mine out to play like I did. Between the little b@stards that live around here and the traffic and all manner of creeps, I'm scared. I do let them go to the park and play on the field behind the house tho. They can all tell time properly and they wear watches and have to stick together. They break the rules or come in late they're grounded, straight up. But when they're in they've got books and games and toys. So if I say no tv, then it's no tv. Like it or lump it. They might stomp around a bit but they get over it and go find something to do,
  7. I've been out with mine for two hours already. A brew and a read of the Bitching Life is my entertainment for the day
  8. Plain English Jenn Read the thread and you will see i booted her I can't read any more ..... I've already lost half an hour of my life
  9. It's early ... I'm tired ... so maybe I'm missing something. But if this member was previously banned - and I remember the mentalness that was crobin - then why is that member still here if an alternate screen name has been discovered? Plain English please?

Makes a whole lot of sense LG . My daughter is 12 going on 18 in the way she acts . think I also made the mistake of spoiling them, I get the impresion with mine they don't apreciate anything anymore. I'm sure they think money grows on trees and we have nothing else to spend money on. Putting that aside the one thing that annoys me is the total lack of comunication, I get a better conversation from the pet Canary That's one thing I haven't been able to do is spoil them. Many a times I wish I could to be honest: they're great kids. I treat them when I can but they know that Mum
  11. I liked 'those' fields Never fear, I can disarm anybody with my baffling accent

If you ask me one of the biggest mistakes you can make with young children is to give them too many choices. Would you like this or that? Should we go here, or there? ... they get to many choices, they start making demands. And there is enough time for that when they hit 12 and above and the hormones go all wack.

I found one of those old fashioned die cast Spud Guns in the pound shop the other week. My son LOVES it. Bits of potatoes all over my b@stard windows now, but hey ho, at least he's outside having fun And he's under strict instruction NOT to shoot his sisters in the eyes with it

First he wanted a mobile phone, then he wanted an iPod. No. And no. When he's a teenager, fine. Till then he'll have to just learn to live without. Some days when they're all playing together and it goes pear shaped and the fights start I wish I was the sort of parent who saw fit to let my young kids waste away in front of the tv so I could have a quiet life. But there's plenty of time for that when they're teenagers. Till then they'll just have to suck it up. They'll play out and get dirty and learn to amuse themselves and I'll just have to keep up with the washing and carry on refereei

My three are 7 and 6 now. They'd sit on the pc/DS or in front of the tv for hours. If I let them. Which I don't. Homework when we get in, then either play out or read or whatever. Some days they can have tv, some days not. They never pick up their DS's or turn the tv on without asking me first. My son asked me for a mobile and I laughed till I cried ... a mobile at 7 years old. Who the hell is he going to call?
  17. I got hit by a car when I was about 12. The guy was turning right on red (you're allowed to do that where I come from), but forgot to look for pedestrians first. Scared me more than anything else - and my Mum was livid that the police brought me home. I can think of a few people I'd like to run over. Maybe it's best I don't own a car
  18. Fine apparently - she was a rather long way from home tho. Really glad, not the least of which because I don't have to face that walk again tomorrow
  19. Just giving this a bump for any locals. I walked all the way from Greenbrook right through Padiham and back, no sign Hope you find her Anthony.
  20. Oh ffs Anthony ....whereabouts exactly? I'm off out today I'll have a good root round for you. And who's dog was it??
  21. .... you're a complete shower ... LOL He's my new hero!
  22. I've heard mention of UKIP here and elsewhere but never paid much mind to them. I just searched that Nigel Farage, been having a nosey about and a read and I tell you what - I rather like this guy.
