I personally am not kept by anyone but myself as i work for myself as a shepard and drystone waller. But one day i may run the family farm when my dad has had enough but no i am not happy with the way it is if it was up to me i would keep as many sheep as my farm can hold and farm it how it should be but thats not how it works now. Its not as simple as you probally think it is. there are a lot of farmers that are happy to reduce there stock and do this and do that or not do anything to tick the boxes to get more money but i assure you they are in the minority.

The main place I shop is seasonal & a lot of it is free range.....I don't need a sticker to be able to see & taste when produce is better......know what you're saying about the bureaucratic side of things.......had it explained to me about ten years ago, but the proof is In the eating! Infact none of this is news......we've all known for years what the supermarkets are doing, my first conversation with a small producer that was getting fcuked by tesco was 10 years ago.......but will we change? Will we fcuk! Look around the high streets, full of e cig shops, pound shops etc.......a l

The organic route only works if your farm has good enough land to handle it. My relatives tried it a few years ago and we said that it was a bad idea even though there farm is a lowland dairy farm it wasnt good enough to go organic and it whent down hill until they changed back. People dont seem to like fertilizer but the ground does get tired after a while you cant just keep taking from it without putting something back into it.

That might be true mole but i can tell you exactly what i put into my ewes & lambs i dont even use concentrate/feed i finnish all of mine of grass and for my own frezzer i only butch weather shearlings that live on heather on the fell they taste the best ? I only farm sheep and beef so i cant really make an educated statment about the pig and poultry farms.

A holiday in lanzerrote never really appeled to me but it might if i got chance to tag along with them. ive never heard of a ferret muzzle before but i suppose a locator isnt going to be much use when you cant dig into hardened lava.

I run/work a fell farm with my dad and work on a lot of other fell farms and without the subs we would all be fecked. The price of lamb hasnt shifted mich in the last 15 years but the price of feed housing medcines and living costs have all gone up. When you sign up to the agreement for the subs your not farming your land anymore your just a caretaker and you cant do anything esspecially on a higher level scheme. I asked my dad why dont you not sign up to these and we will just farm our land to the fullist and he told me if we did that they would make us do what they want and we wouldnt g

Various items of clothing. A bag full of lenses and other camera stuff. A pair of bushnell binoculars. Loads of empty old whiskey and brandy bottles in walls while drystone walling. -

Mines a real smooth haired dog but its more like a mole skin in apperance and feel. Has anyone else seen this? It turns water and he never looks cold. But i do like scruffy rough haired dogs not fussed either way tbh aslong as they do the job.

Blackdog92 replied to FERRETBOY's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Not so good with it being my dogs 2nd season and having had a good 1st season i thought we would up for a repeat and put him to the test a bit more now hes older. But no sods law i had him on the fell while i was gathering and he some how tore from his hock to the top of his foot so hes in the sick bay at the moment. All the fecker does is sit and watch telly while im out working! -
What was weird about it. The Scientology church got hold of her at a very desperate time in her life and then turned her from Christianity to Scientology, she then invested huge amounts of money into their "church".. this left more than a bitter feeling in the mouths of her children, I guess she was brain washed. At the funeral one of the Scientology masters (not sure what they're called) carried out some of the ceremony and her son carried out the rest... her sons part was about her life etc.... the scientology part was strange... each to their own in life, but from what I have heard th

Thats one thing i mever agreed with at public schools that they push christianity fair enough if its a private school and you have sent your kids there because of your faith.

I have a ENO double nest. I looked at the snugpaks they look good gear but they were a bit more pricey than i was willing to pay but im happy with my choice. I much prefer the hammock to sleeping in a tent. The thing i like with them you dont have to worry about condensation like in a tent. Do you use an undequilt or just put your camping mat in the bottom of your hammock? I just use my camping mat in the bottom of mine and it seems to work well. The lowest ive slept in it was only about -2 and it kept me warm.
