  1. won't be long before they start hitting the headlines.Great dogs if you are doing security/patrol work or using them for sport knvp shutzhund french ring etc but defiantly not what I'd call a yard or guard dog as they are more prey than defence driven.Like I said their popularity is going to be their downfall as too many people seeing the YouTube video of them doing what they do best without understanding the work and commitment it takes to get them there. Yeh it won't be long.......accidents waiting to happen.....I've seen malinois here just kept as yard dogs & they generally look unhinge
  2. What was his speed like? He looks like a good strong dog.
  3. Worth the wait for pictures to see them, top draw stuff. How many dogs do you keep out of interest?
  4. That Russell 8 pictures from the bottom is a stunner, looks a real strong type.
  5. Crackin looking dog, looks quite big, how big is she?
  6. Could you not get her spayed as another option? Means you get to keep the dog that you've clearly put a lot of time and effort into.
  7. Like has been said, there are many types of bushing dogs that do the business. If you have vast expanses of land then a hound cross may be better, if its more thick bramble and tight hedgerows then a Jack Russell would be my choice of bushing dog.
  8. I'd get a good coated terrier from working parents and then something like a Collie x Whippet x Grey. All the best.
  9. And Frankel makes it 4/5 winners as Frankuus stays on gamely to beat Arc Royal (that I'd backed) in the 7:45 at Haydock. Impressive ride and going away towards the finish!
  10. Frankels stud fee starts at £100,000 probably more after Cunco bolted up on debut. Majoris ran since and looked to need further imo. Cunco out of a very good mare Chrysanthemum. Be interesting to see when he's been put to an also ran what he produces. Then again, some 'also rans' can produce top quality stuff I'm sure.

    Future Bushers

Very interested to see what these end up like, really enjoy seeing the write ups and pictures of these 2, should make very keen dogs!
  12. Size of him, thought you were gonna say 1st x Greyhound x Great Dane! Looks a lovely pup
  13. Not saw a post specific to this before so just wondering what problems people have had with their dogs and how they corrected it. Could be a good read for those that are new to working dogs

    Pups

Should make good pups! All crackers, second from the left would be my pick
  15. Really like the look of him, he'll be a big strong type!
  16. He looks a right lump, cracking dog!
  17. Jack Russell x Plummer will be a cracking dog, although think it will be quite keen to go to ground, just discourage it at any opportunity if that's not what you want it for. P.S Best way to calm your missus down is to ask her if the cloth in your hand smells of chloroform
  18. cheers for reply mate... mainly woodland and briars!! What breeds or cross do you work and how do you find them cheers Unfortunately I have no working dogs of my own at the minute due to living at home still so I wouldn't be able to comment on that. By the sounds of it you could do with a compact type with a good coat that doesn't range too far. I'd suggest a terrier x cocker, hopefully the Spaniel would keep the urge from going to ground away!
  19. Theres some in the for sale section, Lakeland x Russell x Beagle Sprocker ready May 9th - It's got 15 pages of arguments but I'm sure if you messaged the seller they'd give you info without you having to read through! What type of land do you work? May help you narrow it down to a specific type/size
  20. Lovely dog! Nice thick coat on him and all in proportion, cracker.
  21. Seen some cracking kennels on here that lads have posted up, full of great ideas. Maybe raise the bed slightly off the floor if possible and I see no problem with a heat lamp, keep them warm for the sake of a little extra on your electric, well worth it
  22. Great answer, I don't see a problem with doing that, all part of playtime for the pup!
  23. Fantastic pictures, dogs are loving life there!
  24. Its a nice change for the dog and places no stress on the dogs limbs so gives him chance to recover after the season whilst still exercising. £10 is a great price too so well worth it. My mum takes her dog to abit where the river pools when its hot instead of walking him, great exercise and the dog loves it!
